Are You a Needlepoint Fashionista?

Magnets

You know these magnets are like potato chips…you can’t eat just 1 potato chip, now can you? Okay be honest now! I know that I can’t stop at 1, so that’s the reason I rarley buy a bag of chips for late night snacks.

Well these magents are just like potato chips! You keep picking up another and another. Do you like to theme your magnet to the canvas? Like a Fleur de Lis piece by Lani or a seaside canvas to go with the crab. A mustache canvas might be a little challenge…but if I was in class with Tony Minieri, I would definitely be using that magnet in his class!

These are some of the newest magnets from Elizabeth Turner Collection. Also in that new collection is a gingerbread house that would be perfect on a Christmas canvas. How about a Day of the Dead Scull with a basket of fruit on her head that makes me think of Carmen Miranda?

Magnets 1

Meredith, my sistah in black cats sent me a pressie with these magnets while I was out of town, and it was a great surprise to find the package when I got back. Purr~fect timing to place that crab magnet on this canvas that I am working on…a little ocean and a little sand, what could be better than that crab?

or even this fish? Who says you can’t use more than 1 on your canvas?

AlleyCat1113

AlleyCat has been to the vets 2x now and has been prodded and poked, x-rayed, blood work and urine drawn and they can find nothing wrong with her at the moment. The vet suggested that I feed her on a plate to slow down her food intake so that she can keep it in that tummy of hers. So far it is drastically reduced the fact that she is being challenged keeping her food down. If that doesn’t do the trick, then there are more evasive tests and as much as I love my kitties, I really don’t want to put them through that. At least she’s good and doesn’t get sick in our bed!

Mutts

As we near the day of Thanksgiving, I begin to think of some of the things that I am most thankful for… my kitties.

and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. Hi Vicky, I am happy to hear the vets have not found anything with AlleyCat. I hope she continues to improve….such a worry. I agree wholeheartedly with you and Mooch .
Needlemagnets, OMG! I am developing a lovely collection largely thanks to your beautiful blog! I recently got the cutest turkey and a pink cat!

  2. Hope Alley Cat gets better soon, my Maggie does the eating fast and throwing up thing. She is also allergic to red dyes in cat food, since I changed her food I haven’t had as many problems with her throwing up. Took my first class with Meredith, she is a great teacher who I found out about on your blog.
