It Never Rains in Southern California!

Really it never does! and that’s why we are in such severe drought conditions… but seriously you’re messing with my baseball. It was only a 30 minute delay, so it wasn’t too bad. I kept myself busy till first pitch stitching away.

I shared this picture on Facebook the other day and someone commented that it was a St. Louis Cardinal! I really have been stitching up a storm lately as I really can do some of my best stitching to the crack of the bat, but I must admit that I am getting a little burned out. But on the other hand I am happy to report that this piece is finished! and soon to make its public debut, I just need some pictures of the entire canvas.

Adelaide’s, my florist of choice in La Jolla, has these local lilacs taking over. I bought a bunch the other day and I may need to head down there to get some more. They smell so wonderful!

I open the front door and you-know-who has to get out, no matter what I say to her. She heads right for this spot of sun.

and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. Two days of real RAIN here! None of that sprinkle sprinkle stuff. Hurray, I don’t have to water the yard for a couple of days. With the increased water limitation due to the drought, my poor yard is suffering. Can’t wait for the full photo of the piece….the beautiful cardinal is such a tease! My cat never darts out….too timid. But, she’s not too timid to ask for more breakfast! She’s pawing me to get off the iPad!

    • She can’t get very far and if there’s teh slightest strange noice, she runs back to the door…and trust me she’s not too shy to ask for more breakfast!

  2. Oh but wasn’t that rain delay worth it? What a great game last night. Have fun going to your games this year.

  3. Vickmeister, the beading on the bird is fantastic. Can’t wait to see the whole thing. Lilacs are my favorite, miss them so much. We don’t have them in AZ.
    Play Ball!!!
