Purr~fect!

That phone call came a few weeks ago, you know that one that we wait with baited breath for days or weeks “You framing is ready!” I love it, love, love it. Did I say love it? Unfortunately that phone call came before the holidays and I had to wait, wait, wait and it was killing me that I had to wait to go and pick it up.

I was ready for my monthly routine of breakfast at Julienne’s…it is scary when they know my usual order. A stop at A Stitch in Time, the framers and then the bead shop. I found 2 new awesome bead books and some colors of Nymo in size 0 that Meredith says we should be usuing for beading. I think I understand now why I struggle with some beading threads, they are too thick!

As usual the girls at New Creations Picture Framing did not disappoint. I had seen this frame on a Halloween piece earlier this year as it was there waiting to be picked up. It was black with orange accents and the frame really spoke to me…so I asked “do they make it with greens?” “well yes they do, but it is being discontinued!” ooh the story of my life! They were able to order some molding samples and as soon as we saw it, we knew that it would be just purr~fect. And well it is. Luckily they still had some of it left to be ordered.

The phone is awesome, still learning all the new features that it has. Of course I needed to make sure that the basics of phone calls and texts were able to be handled. Then came the alarm clock, calculator, emails, Facebook and taking pictures. You can see your stitching in a different light with a picture, especially when you are questioning your choice of thread colors and stitches. I also like to take pictures and either text ’em or post it to Facbook.

See I need to able to catch these 2 in their daily antics. Yes there are 2 there…

you don’t see AlleyCat?

are you sure?

It’s cold in here! Please put the covers back on. What are you thinking? and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. What type of new phone did you get? The IPhone probably to go with your IPad – I decided to go with the Samsung Galaxy and really like it. The guys at Radio Shack said they think it is a better phone. My husband plays with it every night and finds new things it does plus ads an app or two. At least I don’t have to take the time to learn it. Back to stitching stuff I love love love – did I say love the cat keep calm. Which I lived closer to use them to do my framing.

    • No I bought a Samsung Note 2…but finding a case is another adventure! A great new toy that I love. Thanks so much and of course that background stitch is a Brenda Hart one!

  2. wonder what would happen if Sylvester decided to go under the blanket too.
Love the finishe piece, everything is just awesome and the frame is just perfect

  3. I love it!!!! My sincerest condolences for the loss of your friend. I have been thinking of you but hadn’t had the chance to post. Take good care, Wanda

  4. Hi Vicky, I so enjoy reading your blog. I have two kit-kats and would love to replicate your version of Keep Calm and Love Cats for my home. it’s gorgeous! Is there anyway you’d mind sharing the little cat diagram? I will understand if you’re not able to. Have a great time at market. can’t wait to read your reports. Thanks so much, Sharon

    • Hi Sharon! I bought the canvas as a painted canvas from Unique New Zealand Canvas line…so I really couldn’t give that to you. As for the background stitch, it came from Brenda Hart’s 3rd book, Stitches for the Millenium. Happy stitching! and I too look forward to reporting in from market.
