Thank a Mailman Day!

maildog-needlepoint

So much of our correspondence and etc. is done via the internet these days…but I still love  my snail mail. A letter, a card, a new catalog or this month’s magazine…Needlepoint Now for example and ooh lets forget all about those bills.

This canvas is Maildog by Unique New Zealand.

Where would we be without mail delivery service? How would the shops get the canvases and threads from the wholesalers? and take it a step even farther back, how would they get their canvases from the painters? We get new threads, our orders, our montly clubs, beads, bling and so much more through the mail. Just think about these hardworking people working every day, through inclement weather and all. So for me I am happy to thank them for delivering all of these packages and especially now right after market when so many orders are being shipped. Thank that mailman when you see him or her for that matter!

I was vacuuming yesterday and the kids absolutely do NOT like that noisy thing. So they are very quick to hide. I believe that they learned this from their older brother Felix who was petrified of it.  I have had other cats…present company excluded that used to love watching it move across the floor.

and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. Though I correspond mostly by email these days, I am thrilled to receive a hand-written letter or greeting card in the mail. I love the mail carrier, and the UPS and FedEx delivery persons! My Sienna is fascinated with the vacuum cleaner as it lumbers out, but I notice she backs up little by little and is outta here when it’s getting plugged in. She knows what will happen after that! Then she appears again when it’s unplugged, ready to watch it being put away. I don’t know where she hides, somewhere upstairs, but I don’t have room on my counters for her to slink under the cabinets.
