We’re Having a Party!

Yes we are! and it’s not a champagne party either…well what’s the party all about? In case you haven’t noticed, mostlyneedlepoint.com 3rd blogoversary came and went! Do you think I forgot all about it? Of course I didn’t and its never too late to have a party. And you get the presents! First we have…

a choice of one of these canvases by Pepperberry Designs. Thank you to Diane for her generousity. I will even print the stitch guide to send along with it!

a Fleur de Lis…or the crab, both by Elizabeth Turner Collection.

a bumble bee magnet

or a polar bear magnet

blog4

or a Tiffany box magnet.

I want to thank everybody who reads my blog, and those who read faithfully everyday, those who comment and especially those who mention when I don’t include pictures of Sylvester and AlleyCat! Originally when I started the blog, I was going to occasionally add a picture of them, but after so many of you would ask “where are the cats today?” well the rest is history! I love it when someone mentions “hey I read your blog everyday!” and I thank you. AlleyCat and Sylvester thank you too.

So these presents are for you…leave us a comment to be entered in the giveaway and if you really want one thing or the other over another mention that too. I will use some sort of random generator to select the winners. No guarantees! Select from the Naughty or Nice canvas or the Polar Bear Magnet or the Bead Buddie or the Tiffany Box magnet or the Bumble Bee Magnet or the Fleur de Lis Magnet or the Crab Magnet… Sorry AlleyCat is not included in the giveaways! I will leave this open until Friday February 28th and announce the winners on March 1rst.

I will leave this post up as for a few days, so no one misses the party. Then I will start sharing the wonderful time I had at the Blue Bonnet Retreat.

I just would like to thank Laura Z. who keeps everything in great working order for us… answers all of my silly questions and takes care of any little bumps in the road!

AlleyCat thought that I had stitched way too long last night, so she jumped on my lap and insisted that I pay attention to her!

and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. Thank you for the generous give-aways, Vicky! Happy blog-versary. I especially like the Tiffany box, polar bear and fleur-de-lys magnets. I love and look forward to seeing the photos of your cats…they give me fond memories of my first cat, who was almost all black. I still miss her after all these years…

  2. Congrats on your Blogiversary! I’m a daily reader and love the naughty canvas and the polar bear magnet. Snuggles to AlleyCat and Sylvester!

  3. Well since I am a Champagne kinda girl that would be the first choice and if I don’t get that I am pretty crabby. Love the idea Vicky….Have another great year

  4. I love your blog! I look forward to reading on your publishing days. I even forward it to my non-needlepointing, cat-lover friend when your babies are particularly amusing.
Thanks so much for blogging. You have so many fans!

  5. Hi Vicki – I met you in the Fab 4 Class in Philly and have followed your blog (daily :-)) ever since. The ‘naughty’ canvas is wonderful. Pam

  6. well, if I can’t have Alley Cat, a magnet would be fun……..but not as much fun! Enjoy your blog and I always learn something new…..we can always count on you to keep us up to date on new fibers and embellishments……

    • Even though I threaten AlleyCat from time to time that I am going to give her bratty self away…well it’s not happening! Thank you for following the blog!

  7. Congratulations on your blogoversary! I enjoy every posting. The polar bear magnet would be the perfect accessory for the K&B polar bear and penguin canvas I just purchased. And I have a friend who stiches mostly bees and I know she would enjoy the bee magnet. Kathy

  8. The day is not complete until I have read your blog! In alpha order bead buddie, polar bear mag,or tiffany mag are my choices.

  9. I am not entering (since what I want is Sylvester but he’s not part of the prize loot) but I did want to wish you many more years of blogging success! It is always fun to see what you have been up to, especially here in CH where I never go anywhere. Happy Blog-versity!

  10. So glad you are back, missed you when you were at Blue Bonnet! I love the Fleur di Lis magnet…actually I love all of them! I hope you will post pictures of your class at Blue Bonnet. Please post lots of cat pictures!

  11. Vicky, it was good to see you at Blue Bonnet. I do enjoy your blog every day even though I don’t have pets. Just a husband that try’s to understand my stitching every day. Since I THINK I am nice I like that canvas and then the Tiffany box magnet makes you feel so cared for. Looking forward to your future blogs.

    • Thanks Ann and it was great seeing you too! I was having dinner last night with Brenda Hart and I was telling her how much I loved what you were doing on that Leigh canvas.

  12. Happy Blogoversary! Such fun to see what you are stitching and enjoy the cat antics and photos. I too have a sold black kitty, who just loves the cat walk canvas — any chance you would share your stitch guide???
Looking forward to reading many more years of blogs from you.

  13. Congratulations on 3 yrs of blogging. You are one of a very few individuals who have consistently blogged that long. The blog is so well written, always fun to read and your pictures are fabulous. Keep up the AMAZING work. It is a treat to vicariously live through your stitching trips and you know I love the MUTTs as well as the twosome!

Have fun with Merideth this weekend

  14. Wow look at these comments, what can I add? Just that your blog is a daily routine for me. I enjoy all the ‘inside’ news like new canvas, threads, needles, retreats etc. Finally I am so happy that Alley Cat is feeling better these days. Any gift except a Bead Buddies (already have two) would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the great work!!!

    • Thank you Carol! as to AlleyCat it is a daily adventure…and it seemed like she took a step backwards while I was gone. Is it separation anxiety that causes her to get sick?

  15. I don’t need a gift, but I really want you to know how much I look forward to your blog! If you miss a day posting, I sulk. How could I not love a blog that talks about needlepoint, cats, Mutts, not to mention food, drink, and needlepoint conferences!! Last night when I saw Jim Cantore on the Weather Channel, I yelled to my husband, “I know his cousin through her blog!” Keep doing what you are doing for as long as you can. There are a lot of us out here who care about you, Sylvester, and Alley Cat. Bless you for her rescue!

    • ooh aren’t you sweet! and how could I have not rescued AlleyCat from under that dumpster behind a sushi restaurant in the alleys of La Jolla? smart kitty as I think that she rescued me instead!

    • I agree with Judy! I love your blog and read it everyday. It is the perfect blend of needlepoint news and amusing anecdotes. And the cat “tales” are so endearing!I do not want to be in the gift lotto….I just wanted to say happy blogoversary. Thanks again foe giving us a gift every day!

  16. Read your blog regularly – that’s required for a fellow cat lover! Happy blog anniversary! My favorite gift would be the crab magnet.

  17. Happy Blogaversary Viicjy! I am one of your daily readers and particularly enjoyed meeting you in person at the class at Enriched Stirch. You are such a patient teacher and I learned a lot. And I love the cat photos. Since my allergies got worse, I can no longer have kitties living in my home – and miss them so! Feel like I “almost” have feline friends by seeing photos of yours.

  18. I enjoy your website very much. I’d love the Bead Buddy- my cat Bob insists that he needs to sit right in the middle of any beading project and I usually have cat hairs woven into the canvas- I’m sure this is for good luck. Love the fact that the Bead Buddy closes up and is almost cat-proof
Other than that I adore the polar bear- got to have the furry creatures
Keep up the good work and all the stitches coming in- I have used several of them in my own canvases
    Pat

  19. OOOH – I like everything, but if the universe should pick me, then I would love to have the Bead Buddie thingie. I’m having real issues with my beads not minding me and ending up on the floor. I don’t want Murray to eat too many!!
Your blog IS my favorite of many and the info you share is wonderful. Photos of the kids are a big bonus.
    Keep up the good work.

  20. Love both the canvases -I have Naughty and Nice moments…. Love following your blog both for the stitching and for the baseball references. Aren’t you glad that it’s Spring Training time and the season is just a month away?!

  21. What can I add except to say that I also look forward to your blog every day? Your blog is a positive force in this anxious world. Your stitching is beyond fine. Your willingness to spread your love of life , and stitching, is so welcome to this old shut-in. I don’t need a prize, but please just keep up the good work.

  22. I so enjoy your blog–
I’m from the OC, and love your comments about SD; we ‘SoCal’ians are so fortunate!
    I vote for ‘nice’!

  23. Congratulations on your anniversary. Reading your blog is part of my daily computer routine. I have so enjoyed all the wonderful stitching subjects you write about but also enjoy the antics of your wonderful cats and our shared love of baseball (especially the Padres). I love all the gifts but especially the Tiffany box magnet.

  24. Hey Honey, “The Busy Bee” here in Texas thanking you and your sweet buddies a huge THANK YOU for being you and yous. I have to read your blog every day and sometimes I even print pictures and make notes. Super Congrats on the anniversary. Wishing you many, many more. Hugs & Stitches,
Brenda (PS – in case you didn’t get the hint, I really, really want the bumble bee magnet). More hugs

  25. Vicki – Congratulations on three years well spent ! I read your blog every day, love the cat antics and your stitching and photos of places you visit and your home State. I must also thank you; you are responsible for a number of my canvas and thread purchases, having featured them on your blog. Australia, where I live, doesn’t have the vibrant needlepoint community you have in the US. So without you I would never have known about all this ‘wonderfulness’ 🙂

  26. Hi. I am not sure if my comments came through because I am having trouble with the machine which I will call it in the interest of kindness but I just wanted you to know if I haven’t already (?) that I really do enjoy your blog and get many hours of inspiration and enjoyment from it. Take care of the fur babies.

  27. Congratulations. I can’t imagine how you you can do the stitching, write the stitch guides, travel, work on the magazine, take all the photos, take care of the cats and then write a blog. Keep writing the blog. I look forward to seeing it pop up on my computer.

  28. I LOVE your blog – it’s the only one I read as soon as I get home from work! I’ve learned so much including how the bead case can really help (bought it). Like all your great gifts, but would love one of the two canvases first or a magnet otherwise. Thanks for letting us share your love of all things needlepoint!

  29. Dear Vicky. I still am having trouble with “the machine.” Anyway, happy blogversary and give the fur babies a hug from me and if any of my previous comments have gone through, I apologize in advance.

  30. My day starts with reading your blog to find out what you’re stitching, what’s new in the world of needlepoint, new fibers, conferences, food, and of course the cats. I love the magnets esp. The fleur de le. Because of your blog I’ve tried new stitches, using stitch guides, and taking classes with Tony, Meredith and Laura Taylor. You are such an enabler showing me all the new canvases esp. Cats, that I want to stitch. I love Alley Cat and Sylvester’s antics and tell my cats what they are up tp. Please keep blogging to keep us in the loop of news in the world of needlepoint.

  31. Congratulations on your anniversary! I read your blog every day and am so inspired by the antics of Sylvester and Alley Cat that I have adopted a polydactyl rescue cat, Benjamin, a real joy. I love the polar bear.

  32. Vickie, Happy anniversary. I have been enjoying your blog for several years
and love seeing what you are working on and where you have been. Your feline kids make me smile. My Gracie will be 20 yrs. old in March and still going strong playing with my threads etc. Hope your felines have as many years with you.
    Sally

  33. It doesn’t seem possible that you’ve been writing this blog for 3(?) years. I have learned a lot from you and you don’t even know it! I will also say that you’ve cost me some money with all your wonderful stitching and are about to cost me some more with the Pepperberry snowman but, that’s ok. Thank you very much for the time you put into this blog to keep us all enlightened and happy stitchers. Hugs to your kitties, where would we be without our furry friends.

      • See, there you go with that temptation again! Are you doing a stitch guide for the snowman cuz if so it’s going to the top of my wish list. Oh, since I’m sure you’d want to know, I’m not naughty and I do have a bee in my bonnet. Thanks for all you do.
        Mary
        Anne

  34. I love your blog and read it just about every day. Love pictures of your cats too, makes me miss my Ms. Kitty and long for Ebonizer, stingy with her love except when she wanted something. I like the Nice canvas, but would be happy with anything. Going to check out your class at Newport Needlepoint, not sure I can take the day off from work as it’s our busy time of year 🙁 But it looks like it would be a fun class to take.

    Sandy

  35. Happy blogoversary! How generous to give us presents. We should be giving you presents as your blog is a daily gift. Love Naughty and the magnets. Send love to the cats.

  36. You know those cats don’t want you to get burnt out. And they offer great exercise for your hand when you pet them! I enjoy your blog everyday, great inspiration. Thanks so much. If I won, I’d like the crab magnet or the green one.

  37. I love your blog and read it every day and often forward it to my husband because of the cat photos. We have four cats, one all black with just a dab of white under his neck, and have had another black kitten and a tuxedo cat in the past. I’d love to win the crab magnet since my sun sign is Cancer. I love your stitching, and I hope that you’ll do another serial stitch guide for “Needlepoint Now” sometime in the future. Even if I don’t get to do the canvas, I enjoy reading about the design.

  38. Thank you for sharing so much of ” you” with us- the stitching, the cats and last but not least-baseball! We are off to spring training in 2 weeks-and I always have a travel piece to work on at the hotel and at the stadiums. And I always get some inquiries about that “cross stitch thing” I’m working on;) If I win any give away I don’t care what it is-all the goodies are wonderful. And I hope to see you at the Newport Needlepoint class!

  39. Hi Vicki –
I read your blog evey day. I always enjoy your comments about everything needlepoint or whatever! M’s
Canvashouse in Lexington is just around the corner from my house and I am there very often! So – enjoy your posts when you make reference to Meredith. Often I relay what you have written! Thanks for the free gift offer. I would be partial to receiving one of the canvases but anything related to stitching is quite fine! Keep up the good work with your blogging – I feel as if we are friends! Thanks, Karen

  40. I’m new to the blog and look forward to it each day. I love the naughty and nice canvases and think it is lovely of you to do this. Happy Blogiversary to you!

  41. Viewing the blog with all your projects, the healthy! cats, and travel, is one of the best parts of my day!!! I love seeing the variety of projects and you get my creative juices running so I can’t blog close to bedtime!
Tangentially, your stitch guides are phenomenal !
You are so generous to us with your talent and sharing—so thank you very much! Congratulations and I of course want either ndlpt project with a stitch guide!

    Gratefully,
    Pegge

  42. Congrats on the blog anniversary, Vicky! I’ve been coveting Alley Cat for a really long time, but I’m glad to hear she isn’t one of the prizes. 🙂

    • Thanks KB! even though AlleyCat has out the B in brat and a few other choice words…I could never give her away! Actually probably no one else would have her…

  43. Hi Vicky – Love reading your blog – get the RSS feed and look forward to the “news” each morning! Just back from vacation and catching up – thanks for the opportunity to win any of these great prizes!

  44. Happy 3rd year!! I would like the Fleur de lis!!
I wish you many more years of blogging! I miss my little black girl, Edgar, every day and seeing your little black faces is a bright spot in my day.. xo

  45. Happy Blogoversary Vicky & many many more. Love reading this blog & seeing pictures of Slyvester & Alley Cat. Thank you for sharing all of your talents with us.

  46. Thank you Vicky for three great blogging years. You have no idea how much your blog means to me and how much I look forward to your posts. Thank you again!

  47. i am in awe of how much you get stitched and worked on full time as well. I love the kitties but cannot have any of my own so yours are charming.
i love any of the gifts and i use my beading box all the time.
    Diane

  48. Congratulations on your blogoversary Vicky! All of the prizes are fabulous and I would be delighted to receive any of them. I so enjoy your blog and the way you keep us up to date with events in the needlework world and of course, days in the lives of Sylvester and Alley Cat! I am glad you get to be home for a while and wish you many hours of happy stitching with your helpers, Wanda

  49. Happy blogaversary! I love your blog. Thanks for taking the time to share so much with us. Oh how I would love to win something! But since alleycat isn’t an option (we buried one of our sweet cats today & I miss her already), I guess I would like the Tiffany box. Thanks for sharing your gifts with us! And give AlleyCat & Sylvester a big hug!

  50. Happy Anniversary! I read your blog everyday to learn so much about what you are doing and how those wonderful cats are. I have a kitty at home with me who thinks she is a human baby. Maybe it’s because I treat her that way. I LOVE my kitty!. I am an avid quilter and needlepointer and love my Boston Red Sox. I would love any of your nice gifts.
