Off to see the wizard!

The wonderful wizard of stitches! Brenda Hart that is! This is Catwalk by Sharon G that I worked on with Brenda when the canvas first came out. I fell in love with this canvas right away. Actually I started it long before the stitch guide was written, and then you know how projects get put away to start something else? And then you sort of forget about it? And then you see the canvas in a shop and say, I should finish mine? I am thrilled with the way it came out. Brenda had given me some stitches for it before the guide was written, so I just took the best of both and then added a little bit of my own creativity. The framers had some great ideas and I am so pleased with the way it came out.

In a few hours I will be on my way to A Stitch in Time in San Marino, California to enjoy an amazing weekend of stitching with Brenda and the gang. I will be bringing the Rainbow Birds as there are a few areas that need to be worked out yet and a few more threads that I need! I am looking forward to lots of laughs, great stitches, bead shopping, stash enhancement, awesome food and of course a little wine and the best of all, being with friends! and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. Vicky, it is spectacular. I love the darning stitch in the sky! And the frame and mat job. Who are those genius framers? You all inspire me to continue designing.

  2. You, Brenda and the gang will have so much fun this weekend. I am envious! This piece is spectacular. A great design; beautiful stitch and fiber selection; wonderfully executed and the finishing is exquisite. Perfection. Thanks for letting all of use have a little peak at this masterpiece.

  3. Thank you Sharon! you know an amazing canvas like this brings out the best in me! You better keep on designing. The framers are Nancy & Andrea from New Creations Picture Framing and are the best! Many time I will just hand it in and “just frame it” and sometime we will pick out the frame and mat color and she will do the rest.

I think I need to do the little cat walk too!

  4. Thank you Jane! Kelly! Front Range Stitcher! and Missy! I always take all of you all with me in my heart and in my thoughts. I hope that you all had as good a time as I did! Thank you all again!

Kelly will we see you in Dallas? I hope so! we need to go to Rise with Missy…
