Sat down early last night for an evening of stitching and relaxation, threads and stitch guide at hand, ice tea poured and cats sleeping away…and really what else do they do? I started off with putting in the Delica beads around the faces of the birds so that I will be able to see exactly where and how I need to compensate my stitches to finish up the faces. The threads were stranded and waiting patiently on my needles for bird #2, so I thought well why not try this again? I guess the 3rd time was the charm! I finally “got” the stitch as I talked my way through the entire first row. This is fun, the threads and stitches were behaving themselves and it was looking great, so I just kept on stitching. On my previous attempts I did try to “really” shade by changing the amount of strands, but I didn’t like the effects, so out it came. Last night I used the very darkest part of the Gloriana Cinnamon up against the Crimson and again I was thrilled with the results, well all except for one stitch that will need a little manipulation before all is said and done. There is also some Krienik that needs to be added to complete this stitch.
There are sections of this canvas that are exciting to show off as they are done, but then again there are sections yet to be stitched that may not be so interesting to see until they are completed! such as the leaves, the white background, the rest of the gold and the fuchsia plume. I am not giving up on this canvas no way, no how as it is too much fun! so I will show my progress every few days or so. Besides as any other true needle-pointer, I have more that one canvas in my stitching bag!
AlleyCat is telling me “Mom it is time to get to work”! and until next time…keep on stitching
This is gorgeous!!!!
Vicky,
I love what you are doing with this canvas and eagerly await each new post you have. Is there a way to purchase a stitch guide for it?
