I can just hear Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz saying this to the Cowardly Lion, Scarecrow and the Tin Man, can’t you? One of my all time favorite movies! and I can watch it every year on tv and never tire of it. Okay on to the stitching stuff, my pretty!
I finished stitching this earlier this year and OMG, I even used Paternayan, which was my very first time stitching with it. Believe it or not, I actually enjoyed working with it. No, don’t worry, I would never ever give up being a silk snob, but the wool does have it’s place. I agonized for weeks, frame or not to frame? have it made into a bag or not? I went for the bag and when this came back from Marlene, I too was saying Oh my! as I am absolutely thrilled with it. I would have not thought to use this dark charcoal fabric as she did, but it is “purrfect” and the lining matches the golds in the tiger and has some great inside pockets. I will look forward to using my bag, but for now it hangs over the door so I can enjoy seeing it.
As for the bear in lions and tigers and bears, this canvas of Santa Riding the Panda has totally consumed my life these last few weeks as I literally stitch on this round the clock. Stay tuned for progress updates… and as for the lion or lioness in my life this was AlleyCat talking to the birds the other day. If you look on the railing, you will see 2 birds that are just teasing and tantalizing her as she vocalizes to the birds and the tail is just a twitching. My afternoon entertainment! The chair that you see is hers as she supervises her outside domain. and until next time…keep on stitching
I have my heart set on doing 2 of these big cats. Yours is just wonderful! What did you do for the whiskers?
Thank you Jan! I just used Patternayan for the entire canvas and sticthed it all in basketweave. I too would love to do more than one of these large cats and I just might need to order one or two at market this year!
I love this canvas! You did a great job. Who is the designer? I may have to add this to my stash!
This is a canvas by Lee, which is actually owned by Colonial Needle. They have other large cat faces and I would love to do another one.
Thanks so much!
