I am in a Finishing State of Mind!

Really I am! This was so close to being finished that I just had to give it a little of my time. Isn’t that one of the greatest feelings when you can say I am finished? This is a “Pische Pocket” and it was a delight to stitch. As much as I love the challenges of a canvas with stitches that can just drive you wild and crazy with their difficulty, it is nice to have one that you can sit down with, relax and basketweave. You know, sort of like comfort food.

Even though I did mine all in basketweave, I have heard of some that have been beaded, done in decorative stitches and just all sorts of ideas. Hmmm, beading, now that got my attention! The Tuscan sun with the brilliant colors and the dragonfly that is calling for beads may be on my have to do list! Okay back to my Pishce Pocket, which is the Napa Valley one. It is finished being stitched and I will just need to applique the canvas onto the front of the bag. Along with your selection of threads that come with the bag to stitch it, you get an additional packet of threads of 2 skeins of tapestry wool and a pearl cotton that are set aside for you to sew on the pocket. For right now I just have it pinned into place and putting it all together will be a project for another time.

My date with Susan Portra yesterday was absolutely “purrfect” and I have lots of stitching to do so that Santa can be ready to show himself off at the ANG exhibit in San Antonio. Susan says I have 5 hours of stitching left, I estimate it is more like 15!

AlleyCat who always never fails to convince me that position is everything in life! and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?
