The Creepy Characters are quite the hit! and look at this amazing picture taken by Robin King! her stitching, the finishing by Elizabeth Turner Collection, the black Halloween Tree and all of Robin’s touches are making their debut a real show stopper. I am quickly falling in love with these characters and just may have to sign up for the club myself! My favorite is Hooty, the Owl which will be featured on the back cover of the September/October issue of Needlepoint Now along with his stitch guide. All you will need is the threads and the canvas and you will be ready to go!
The show floor looked amazing this morning as we opened up to the bustle of anxious shoppers. I really do like the idea of moving the new products display onto the show floor instead of being in the hallways. Products making their debuts, such as bags, yarns, threads and just everything imaginable are artistically displayed on a series of tables. Normally they are out in the walkways of the convention center, but this time they have moved them inside as you first enter the doors to start shopping!
A favorite new canvas of mine by Danji Designs! LD-17 and now why did I not ask the name of this canvas? I really love Halloween and especially that it is a black cat. Isn’t this cat just the cutest thing? Kitty is all ready for an evening of trick or treating with the pumpkin candy bag hanging there just waiting to be filled with catnip treats!
OMG! these new canvases from Sundance Designs are all calling out to come home with me! They are small canvases with cat lampwork beads that are their faces. I can’t make up my mind, so I am just going to order them all! well how can one decide anyway?
The day started off on a wonderful note for me with Julia Snyder and her “Joy” class, featuring a new beading technique which is very random, but very effective and some great blackwork patterns that I will be anxious to master. The evening ended on an higher note with an amazing dinner and a few pomegranate martinis with Raymond at Lemon Grass, a Thai fusion restaurant that is one of our favorites. We strolled down High Street which was bustling with activity as we people watched and listened to a variety of street performers. We were too full to stop at Jenni’s for her creative ice cream concoctions. and until next time…keep on stitching
OK Vickster! Guess I have to start designing cats to make your TNNA Blogposts! :~)
hey Kelly, that’s a really great idea & I will be looking forward to a cat from you!
