What a wonderful day yesterday as I whiled away the hours stitching to my hearts content! I was in my glory with the cats at my side, threads and beads at hand and lots of baseball. I think that I do my best stitching to the sounds of the game. You really don’t have to look up and disturb your stitching rhythm as the play by play and the color announcers do all the work for you. Ice tea was made, the refrigerator and the pantry was stocked well enough for the three of us, so I knew that I wouldn’t have to venture out. Heaven!
The Easter Egg House by Needle Deeva is such a fun canvas! I worked on the sky using 2 strands of Gloriana Hydrangea, which is such a wonderful color for the sky. I also stitched the shutters, allot of the trim around the windows, doors and beaded the eggs in the basket. I have quite a stash of beads thanks to my bead mentor, Brenda R. who also has been a great enabler in that department! I am not always fond of using beading thread, and often I will use the threads that I have been stitching with for the beads. I know that sometimes the biggest challenge of beading is getting that needle threaded, but have you ever tried the Bohin needles from France? The eye is somewhat larger, large enough that I can thread it with 2 strands of silk! My plan for my next stitching session is to finish the shutters and then work on the house & grass next.
I never did go on that road trip Saturday for boucle’, beads and silk ribbons, but rather I will go with the Deeva herself later this week. We have the best time together and also do allot of brainstorming for new and exciting things from Team Deeva. and until next time…keep on stitching
Let’s see now, which is more beautiful, the gorgeous orchids or the silky kitty perched on the counter?….hands down, the kitty. Those eyes are beautiful.
she meows “thank you!”
Please tell Miss Jezebel Puddycat that she has come a long way – from the alley in La Jolla to performing in her own media event! Being featured with Deeva and other fine collections of canvases is perhaps her ticket to being the most photographed cat in the world. Certainly the most photographed in our business! Watch out Paris – we’re calling the Times!
ooh you are too funny Deeva!
