All in a Hard Day’s Job!

Meet the Deeva and Jo Christensen. You have no idea how thrilled I am to have her attending the show! Jo was really the pioneer with the first needlepoint book, before there were all these amazing teachers out there, Needlepoint Now magazine and a library of books. It was just me and the bible. Look at where we are today!

The sun is brightening our morning as we are getting ready for a day of selling, shopping, looking, visiting and more selling and even more shopping. I am trying to practice some restraint…tough job though.

Melissa Shirley’s window. The crackers are really darling and I might have to break down and do them. For the new canvases from Melissa, please check her website!

The girls from Unique New Zealand and the Keep Calm canvases…gosh that green one looks familiar!

What happened to the sun? I hear that there is some rain on the way. I remembered that it rained last year while we here. You know living in California, a great rainstorm doesn’t happen very often, especially at this time of the year.

From Namaste, the Better Buddy Box… a new shape and a new color or two. I do like this lemon yellow.

Here comes the rain! It was a noisy one as the rain pounded down on the sky light. I heard that there was a tornado warning issued too…ooh is that why I heard that siren earlier? How is this California gal supposed to know what that means?

It is 6PM and the show is closed for the day. It is time for the social events of the evening, getting together and talking shop, spending time with good friends. Some stay in and dine in the hotel, some venture out to recommended restaurants and many were headed to Camden Yards for a Stitch ‘N Pitch event with the Orioles and the Yankees. You are thinking that is where I went…to the baseball game? well actually believe it or not…no!

Teem Deeva was invited out for a Maryland crab feast that I couldn’t pass up. I had the pleasure of my first experience of eating or as they say picking hard crabs last year. That was the highlight of last year’s Baltimore trip, so how could I pass that up? Besides I don’t get to spend that much time with Teem Deeva these days. What a grand time we had sitting around the table at Seaside Crab House and relishing every morsel of crab that I could pick out of those shells!

absolutely lick smacking good! and as you can see there is nothing left but the memories. To our hosts, thank you very much to what was a grand evening. and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. Go for the crackers Vicky, you’ll love them. Yesterday I ordered the Thanksgiving ones – I think I can;t stay crackerless 🙂
