I was thinking of a road trip to Los Angeles area on Saturday, well for what else? threads and beads and canvases! but with the threat of rain looming I thought that I would stay closer to home. Of course it wound up being a beautiful sunny day afterall, so I headed south for a mini road trip. First stop is the Cottage for breakfast and a little conversation and then onto my favorite stops. Warwicks, a most amazing independent bookstore, cards and gifts and then of course to Adelaide’s an over the top florist, where I usually find an orchid or two and some colorful inspiration for my stitching.
I worked my way back home, taking care of errands on the way and a little late lunch. I was ready to sit and stitch and listen to a spring training baseball game or two. Yes I know that the games don’t matter, but it is still baseball! I seem to do my best stitching while I have a game on. What was I to work on? my Pischke Pocket? the Rainbow Birds? or Santa riding the Panda? well you can see what got my attention.
I started with a leaf and then quickly realized that I was not in a basketweave sort of mood, so I moved on. Added the beads to the coffee bean stitch and also started on remaining stitch on bird#1. It is a laid filling stitch from Jean Taggart’s book. I was supposed to use Neon Rays Plus as one of the laid threads, but I wasn’t liking it, so out it came. It still needs a bead or a little bit of something as I finish the last layer of this stitch. My plans for today is to stitch the day away! what could be better than that? and until next time…keep on stitching
AlleyCat is doing her fair share of talking to the birds!
You should have gone to L.a. The weather was overcast but no rain. A friend and I
drove Cloud and Taj and their two dog carts to a Sheltie dog show. Both the boys
were proud as peacocks pulling their carts. 🙂
