Canvases, Threads, Wining & Dining…oh my!

Another market over already! How does the time go so fast? It seems that it is over in a just a blink of an eye. As much as I would love to stop and shop in every room, there just isn’t the time for me. Most of my hours are of course working for the Deeva, selling canvases and meeting shop owners.  Secondly I am then working and looking for the magazine, passing out issues of the latest Needlepoint Now to some of our advertisers and then trying to tempt never before had a magazine presence. So that doesn’t leave much time for checking it all out for me and trust me, my checkbook thanks me!

Zecca’s window looked so inviting, so I had to make a point to go back in and look. I enjoy visiting with Karen and it looks like she was set up for some stitching!

I absolutely love, love, love…did I say love? this canvas! A growth chart. Do you think that I could use that for AlleyCat? ooh you can order it without the numbers!

Another wonderful design by Zecca. Talk about a conversation piece! It is finished with fabric swatches on the top and between the pieces and every side is different.

Kreinik’s door was so clever! maybe I need to make a wreath of metallic for my holiday decorating this year.

A canvas by Colors of Praise. I could see doing this canvas in an embellishment class!

Danji did have some new designs too! I absolutely love this new black swan by Laurel Burch. There were new designs by Melissa Shirley, Leigh, Amanda Lawford and Ruth Schmuff which can be seen on each of their websites.

A hard day at the office really builds up quite an appetite! This is where we dined twice this weekend, The Elkridge Furnace Inn. As I mentioned, Leigh & Robert of Leigh Designs are quite the foodies and just follow their recommendations. They discovered this place last year and we had to go this year. Very special place indeed…and just a little sampling

a watermelon salad with Midori vinaigrette. Delicious and very refreshing! a veal chop which was highly recommended by the waiter came in between that and this

Chocolate cake frosted with maple & bacon…very interesting and so good! I hope the fall market is back in Baltimore next year so that we can go dine there again.

AlleyCat is keeping her eye on my every move and Sylvester just wants to be in the thick of things. I don’t have the heart to chase him away…and I wanted to make sure that you saw both of the kids as it has been awhile.

Now you will never ever believe this! I am on the road again this morning…probably by the time most of you read this I will be winging my way to Miami! I am so very excited as I have never been to Miami and so very thrilled that this very new ANG group invited me to teach for them. I will probably not have any internet access, so not even planning on bringing my laptop. So sorry to say no blog till then, nor will I be able to publish your comments. So I will take lots of pictures and will have lots to share with you when I get back on Monday. Hope that the kids don’t disown me.

and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. Miami is not the wilderness, you know. An urban jungle, perhaps, but not an area lacking in electronic services. 🙂 I hope you enjoy the Sunshine State. Care to detour up to West Palm? I’d be happy to show the locals. 🙂
