For a cat lover, there can never be too many! I can remember taking a thread lecture from Doug Kreinik and him telling us that a cat person will stitch anything with a cat on it, but a dog person wants it to be breed specific and look just like their dog! Now for me this is so true, and I am especially attracted to black cats canvases. This canvas is “Daisey at the Beach” from a new artist for Maggie and I just may have to stitch this one!
This is “Angel Cat” from Ewe and Eye, another favorite of mine. I am attracted by the clean lines and the endless possibilities of stitches, beads and all sort of fun ideas! I would love to accept the challenging idea of an appliqueing her wings on top of the canvas. This canvas is on 13 mesh…and moving onto threads…
Have you ever stitched with Stardust? The base thread is Silk & Ivory spun with a strand of metallic and it would be “purrfect” on this canvas. I have stitched with the white and I do love working with it. They are adding more colors to the line, including Midnight, Candlelight and Rambling Rose. I will look forward to seeing this in the shop soon!
Rainbow Gallery has been very busy introducing lots of new colors! 20 new colors in Silk Lame’ Braid for 13 count & 17 new colors for 18 count. New ones in the Very Velvet shaded with great names such as Apple Greens, Desert Sands and Bubblegum Pinks. The family of Neon Rays+ colors grows with 5 new ones and including…a White Glow in the Dark! And a single new color each in Neon Rays and Rainbow Linen. The big news from Rainbow Gallery is that they will be introducing Petite Silk Lame’ Braid for the August Market. How wonderful is that!
DMC has added lots of new colors to their Memory Thread for a total of 28! including White Luster, Gray, Dark Grey, Sky Blue, Purple, Aqua, Burgandy, Dark Green, Medium Green and Light Yellow!

Cats the Original Laptop, canvas by Elizabeth Turner Collection!
Speaking of cats, it is good to be home with the kids! Team Deeva is already planning for our Baltimore show, which is only a few short months away. In the meantime I need to get busy stitching finishing up the Dishwashing & Needlepoint Pixie for Ruth, my Cat’s Night Out by Sharon G, the Needle Deeva Easter Egg House and start another new canvas for Ruth! OMG, I need more time in my day and if you ever figure that out how to do that, would you please let me know? AlleyCat is keeping her on me, making sure I don’t leave her alone! and until next time…keep on stitching
