Destination Dallas!

In a few short hours the halls will be bustling with activity as the designers and thread vendors bring in their wonders for a weekend of fun! The show rooms are the hotel rooms and you will get to wander from room to room to see who is here, what is new, oldies but goodies all while looking for friendly and familiar faces.

Arrived at the hotel in late afternoon, even though Sylvester was trying his hardest to keep me from leaving! Of course you always arrive at your destination ravenous. Sometimes the best part of the shows is the dining and discovery of new restaurants or revisiting your favorite haunts! I was graciously invited to dinner by Pat Delp, owner of Designers Desk in Geneva along with her husband Bill and daughter Missy. Sharon G, who needs no introduction and Leigh of Leigh Designs and her charming husband Robert finished out our group. We were on our way to La Duni, Latin Kitchen & Bakery that Raymond Crawford introduced us to a few years ago. An incredibly delicous meal of carne asada Latin style with wonderful accompaniments and a little dark beer was enjoyed by most of us. Of course we did save room for dessert and our 4 Leches cake was even more amazing than the meal!

Tonight Missy, our social director has reservations for us at Rise and my mouth is watering already! I wish you all could join us tonight…you will be there with us in spirit. But for now it is time to get to work. and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?
