Well, why not? well you can too! Wouldn’t that be just the most fun thing to have? a cute little pixie that will hang out in your kitchen and do your dishes for you and leave your kitchen sparking clean. This is a new canvas that will be debuting at the summer market by the ooh so fun and clever Ruth Schmuff. Isn’t she the cutest?
I think that I have most of my threads and beads selected and ready to go. Actually I was experimenting with my beads last night as I knew that I wanted gray, but did I want the gray lined crystals? or do I just want crystal gray? I have decided that I like the crystal gray better as it is somewhat shinier, and aren’t soap bubbles shiny? There is Soie d’Alger, ThreadworX, Sea Grass, Neon Rays, Flair, Frosty Rays, Boucle, beads, Swarovski crystals, Kreinik, Gloriana, floss and oh I need to look for some Memory Thread for the antena in her hair.
Later tonight I will spend time looking through my stitch books for inspiration and ideas for stitches for this canvas. I will probably start stitching the areas for what I am sure of what I will be doing, such as her skin, her apron and gloves and maybe the beading. Oh what fun she will be! and she will sneak into the rotation along with the Needle Deeva Easter Egg House, Sharon G’s Cats Night Out and my Santa Riding the Panda, the latter canvas giving me way too much grief! The Santa will get the most attention over the next week as my deadline for getting that to the framers is looming.
AlleyCat thought that she might step into my role of dishwashing pixie yesterday, but instead she jumped into this box and posed for her Kodak moment. and until next time…keep on stitching
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this canvas. Cannot wait to see what you do to it.
An idea for the bubbles. Get some Flair in the color grey you want and get some larger pearl beads. Take the pearl bead and stuff it inside the Flair. Cut about 2 inches on either side of the bead, bring the 2 ends to the back and secure. What you will end up with is a flair covered bead floating on top of the canvas like a big bubble. This works great with large beads. Sharon G HATES to see the thread showing when a larger bead is attached.
You can also stuff several normal size beads in the Flair and make ti look like a bunch of tiny bubbles.
Try this if you are attaching large round beads on a larger scale tree as ornaments.
Cute canvas. WIsh I had a dishwashing fairy.
Adorable canvas, Vicky. That Ruth is something else! Love the idea about the pearls inside the Flair from Sharon. Can’t wait to see your creativity unfold.
