and you I am sure you are wondering why I am so happy? In my mailbox yesterday was my letter, a letter that was opened the very second that I had it in my hot little hands! A letter from ANG (American Needlepoint Guild) of the class or classes that I was able to get in for this years seminar. Well there was really only ONE class that I wanted, the 5 day class with Suzanne Howren, Tony Minieri, Beth Robertson and Meredith Willett, “The Long and Short of Canvas Embellishment, Chapter lll” Not that there aren’t dozens of other wonderful classes being taught at San Antonio this year, but this is the one that I had my heart set on! This is the only one that would do! I am thrilled beyond words!
Just imagine 4 teachers together for 5 days for the ultimate canvas embellishment class! I took this class last year and loved every second of it so much that I just had to take it again. I already have my canvases selection narrowed down to two choices! It is one of Leigh’s pagodas of either the Gateway to Foo or Hall of Sacred Bells…but that could always change, who knows? I am thinking though that I really wouldn’t have time to order something new from the summer market and get it in time. I will need to send a copy of the canvas in time for the brainstorming session that the teachers will have to get ready for our class.
Seminar which is held every year is such an amazing experience! Once you attend one, you will want to go every year. Not only the classes, it’s the friendships made, shopping for your stash, new books, the exhibit of stitched pieces, catching up with everybody that you only see once a year, and that is just the beginning! Then there is the sightseeing, the tours, visits to local needlepoint shops and taking in the sights and sounds of the city that you are in. The Alamo, the River Walk, margaritas, Mexican food at it’s finest…what more can I say?
AlleyCat is waiting for me to freshen up her bowl of dry cat food…not that there isn’t plenty there to eat right now, but she insists on a little top off. I guess she has me well trained! and until next time…keep on stitching
Congratulations! Have a wonderful time and learn lots, ok?
Jane, waving and sending hugs from CH
Thanks Jane!
Vicky,
You will have such a great time. We cannot wait to ‘Read All About It!’ We will live vicariously through you.
BTW: That is some green thumb that you have there. The orchids are magnificent.
Thank you Missy! and actually the kids picked out a new orchid for me today in honor of Mother’s Day! They are sort of like canavses now, don’t really need another one…but need and want are not the same!
Your Orchids are gorgeous! Vicky…it has to be a Pagoda because I LOVE them, and because it
will make an excellent follow along for your blog!
