It’s Raining Cats and Dogs!

Well not really…but it never rains in San Diego at this time of the year! This is America’s Finest City with picture “purrfect” weather, blue skies and well you get the idea. I woke up very early this morning to the meows of hunger from the feline kids and the sound of raindrops hitting the windows. It will be great stitching day for sure as the rainy weather gives you a great excuse to stay in all day, with a little baseball and lots of threads and stitches.

Here is my trusty stitching assistant, Sylvester! just making himself comfortable among my bags of threads, assorted beads and the necessary stitchy things. I have a package of Boho Beads from Sundance Designs, pearls, Flair and my trusty straw to try the pearl bubbles in the Dishwashing Pixie later today. I am hoping that it will come together as easy as Sharon G makes it sound! and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. Vicky – she looks darling. Thanks for bringing her to life. Can’t wait for the pear/flair bubbles to appear. Hugs to you and Sylvester.

  2. If for some reason it is not to your liking, you can always use the straw and leftover beads as a pea shooter. Remember those? Give it a shot Vicky, I know it will work. About 25 years ago the Needlepoint Group did a jacket with appliques stitched by at least 20 designers. I did the stuff the Flair, which at that time was not available and they had a thread called Rachel, with pearls. I always hated to see that attachment thread coming out of the side of a larger bead. Looks so much nicer floating and covered with the Flair.

Enjoy the rain. It will clean the air and wash away lots of dirt.

  3. A straw’s a great idea to get a bead inside Flair! All you need is the right size and it’ll look great but the right size is probably very important.

Jane, waving but hiding under the bed in case Vicky decided to use the straw as a peashooter OUCH

  4. Leave it to you and Ruth to make rubber dish gloves glam! Sylvestor looks like he’s better behaved than Loki. Loki would have his teeth firmly embedded in the plastic bags. –K.B.
