Just another day in paradise

Coming home from the trade show is usually such a let down for me, but coming back home to paradise does make it just a little bit easier. Something to look forward to especially when you are headed to the baseball game and opening day no less! The festivities at Petco Park in San Diego did not disappoint as the Navy presents the flag in a grand manner with all the pomp and circumstance, and finishing up with a flyover. Trevor Hoffman throwing out the first pitch. And if that wasn’t enough it was a great game and the home team won. I do love my baseball in case you couldn’t tell!

Destination Dallas theme this year was “my favorite destination”and some of the canvas artists were quite clever in with their ideas! Leigh’s favorite destination is Neiman Marcus as you can see the bags and boxes as part of her displays. Too cute!

Leigh’s new design is called “Staccato” and as always there are 8 wonderful new designs in the series. She has it available in the larger squares and also the smaller coaster size. I can just see beads and glitz and so many fun stitches.

The blue one is my favorite! I am sure soon you will be able to see them all on Leigh’s website.

This was me getting ready for my class and putting the thread kits together very early Sunday morning and I mean very early. I had good intentions of doing it Saturday night after we had dinner at Rise, but instead we had a technique class with Wendy Harwood, owner of Aristea! I would like to thank her for her generousity as she had canvases ready for us on bars, threads, silk ribbons, beads, fancy beads, ribbons, memory thread, needles and wool roving as she taught us stumpwork and needle felting! I can’t wait to finish my stumpwork dragonfly and try my hand at the felting. Thank you so much Wendy for sharing with us.

I think tomorrow I am going to stitch all day and watch baseball! and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. Hi Vicky,
WOW… an impromptu class with Wendy H, her very self? OMG. How wonderful. Glad your class was a success. I knew it would be. Enjoy the game. Great photo at the ballpark, too. Thanks for sharing. Robin

  2. I this blog is really great. I’m glad that i found a place to get such good information. Keep up the good work!

  3. Next time I am crashing Wendy’s party! Hear that Wendy! Great spending time with you. Happy you made it home in time for the game. No photos of Alley Cat and Felix doing a happy dance when you came home?

    • The feline children were more interested in eating than doing a happy dance for me! Yes made it home in plenty of time for the game…and wish we had more time to catch up.

  4. Thank you for your very nice write-up, Vicky! Wasn’t it fun getting together in Dallas? I think I gained 20 pounds….it’s a wonder our plane got off the ground! Missed you when we all got together at Bugatti’s Monday night….guess you got a better offer!
