Lions & Tigers, oh my!

This canvas was finished sometime before I started the blog. One day I want to have it framed and then the next day I say no, I will have it made into a stitching bag. Then I say no, I have enough bags I will have it framed. Yesterday I finally made up my mind and off to the finishers it went! I convinced myself that “well I don’t have a stitched bag for my stitching” and that is why I am going for the bag.

This canvas is an all time favorite of mine by Lee. Actually I love it so much that I have stitched it more than once! Well not exactly this one, but they have a smaller version of this tiger that focuses on the eyes. That one I stitched all in Kreinik’s that Brenda Hart helped me select. The effect is wonderful and that was set into a Lee bag. I am also doing it again by beading it, and for now it has been moved to the back of the line, and maybe soon to come out of hiding. This one in the picture was stitched all in basketweave using Paternayan and a little Kreinik for the eyes. As much as I love “stitches” I love basketweave just as much as it is so relaxing, kind of  like comfort food.

Here is the lion or should I say lioness? and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. I LOVE these big cats. I’d love to do 3-4 of them, but love this tiger and the white tiger the best. Just beautiful stitching! Thank you for sharing.
