Friday was the last day of seminar. Can it really be over already? Where did this week go to, would you please tell me? The time sure went by all too quickly!

It was a beautiful day and I thought that I would get in the last of the local feel during lunch.The Love Sculpture was a quick walk from the hotel and was one of my destinations. It overlooks JFK Plaza in the heart of downtown Philadelphia

and is across from City Hall. These buildings are all so amazing…do I see a stitch beeing created by the way the granite blocks are set? The Philadelphia Museum of Art is in the very distant background of the Love Sculpture, which in my picture is behind the waterfall.

Next on my list was to hear the organ play in Macy’s…the Wanamaker Organ.

This is the world’s largest pipe organ and the marble work around it was amazing!

The organ is played every day except Sundays at noon and at 5:00. I walked around some more of downtown Philly, probably looking like a typical tourist as I admired the buildings, read the historical markers and shot some photos.

I was pretty hungry after my walking and headed over to the Reading Terminal as I wandered around looking for something for lunch. Did I want Dinic’s pulled pork again? or a Philly steak sand? I settled for something light so that I could enjoy some ice cream!

The shops at seminar were already closed, so since there was no shopping at the hotel, I saw many of us browsing and shopping at the Reading Terminal. I ordered my usual for the week, Guadalajara Tracks which is coffee ice cream with chocolate swirls. When asked if my flavor was good I answered “of course! and this is my 3rd time…well not 3 times just today!”

Time for class! This is a Peter Ashe canvas and is being stitched by Bert. We finished up with the last of our questions for now. The Fab Four then walked around the room for 15 minutes looking at our canvases while we were told “NO TALKING!” wow that 15 minutes felt like an eternity!

check out the fringe on the hassock. That was a Meredith touch. Wish I saw her do that! The chair is being stitched in Very Velvet. Actually this same canvas was being stitched by someone else in class, in the very opposite corner and the stitches being used were NOT the same!

Next up in the queue was this darling canvas by Squigee. Now this lady was almost done with her canvas!

Check out that purple bathing suit! Now you are wondering where are their faces?

Meredith saved the best for last…as she says “this is the bomb!”

A Barbara Russell canvas being stitched by Pat. Tony gave her this great needle lace technique that makes this a standout!

She will need to continue the needle lace out some what more and then will tack it down in place with French knots. I will look forward to seeing this next year in the exhibit Pat!

We were given time to walk around the room to look and visit and gab. I was pretty tired so I sorta kinda packed it in shortly there after and headed upstairs. A little Starbucks, a little packing, a little nap and I was ready for the closing banquet. Dinner was great and we all said our good byes as we are invited to seminar in the happiest place on earth in 2013… maybe you are thinking Disneyland, but we are thinking stitching in Anaheim, California.

My 4am wake up call would be here all too soon. Time to go home to the kids which I miss so much! Travel was smooth and uneventful. Both Sylvester & AlleyCat gave me a mouthful of meows for leaving them

Seminar was wonderful and it is great to be home…but I am already thinking about the TNNA show on Baltimore next weekend. Shhhh, please don’t let the kids know I am leaving them again!
