I came here to teach, but I learned allot too! Miami time is sorta kinda like when I get there. I have fallen in love with Cuban coffee, Cuban bread and of course the Miami kiss, kiss! The scenery is pretty spectacular too.
Our classes were in Miami Beach at Mimi’s clubhouse at her condo. Not a bad way to live being right on the beach! Thank you for suggesting that we have classes here.
This was our class one day, the very first NeedleDeeva Heart that I stitched. Being the first, it has that special place in my heart, sort of like your first love? The students were all the most amazing stitchers and such wonderful enthusiasm! A few of them could have probably finished it in class. I encouraged them to make it their own, some added beads in the center of the flowers, some were very ambitious and made bullion knots for the stems. The other day of classes was one of the Fab Firs by NeedleDeeva.
It was a picture perfect day and the beauty surrounded you no matter which way you looked. We walked on the beach later, took off our shoes, rolled up our pants legs and I would have been happy just to sit down right there…clothes and all. Well its not that I don’t have beach right here in San Diego, but that was the Atlantic and I was on Miami Beach!
Off to a cheese and wine celebration after class and before dinner at Rosa Mexicana. I of course loved the food, the ambiance and the company. We walked down Lincoln Road afterwards which was just the happening place. I was amazed that even that late at night, it was quite busy with shoppers, people dining and street performers entertaining!
This was my favorite spot with the windows filled with antique sewing machines and vintage movie lights lined the ceiling. Very clever and quite the Kodak moment.
You might have thunk that I just went there for the sightseeing? well being that I have never been to Miami, I couldn’t pass up any moment to take it all in. Of course that had to include a baseball game at the brand new Miami Marlins ballpark! Thank you for indulging my passion.
I loved this mural that was right behind home plate. Could I take that home with me?
The bobblehead museum was pretty wonderful too!
ooh the game was pretty good too! The home team won and this was when a home run was hit by the Marlins and the palm trees and fronds light up. Very clever. The game ended with a wonderful display of fireworks after the domed roof of the stadium opens. It takes all of 12 minutes for it to open to the skies.
Thank you so very much to the Royal Palm Chapter and to Miami for being wonderful hostesses. Thank you for the great memories and I hope to be back someday. and until next time…keep on stitching
