One Can Never Ever Have too Many Threads!

Ever! ever! did I say ever? Many new colors and even new threads were introduced at the Baltimore Market…beginning with Wisper from Rainbow Gallery. How do they name all these threads? Blue Jay in the upper left, Goldenrod, Violet and then my favorites; Fawn, Chestnut, Timber Wolf and Kangaroo. I love these 4 brown colors for animals. I enjoy working with Wisper and sometimes stitch with 1 strand blended with Burmilana.

The thread companies never cease to amaze me as they keep coming up with all of these new and wonderful colors! More colors in Petite Silk Lame’ Braid Turquoise, Forest Green, Deep Avocado, Antique Silver, Pale Avocado (well of course) Dark Lagoon and one more I don’t have the name for. I use this single strand for a bit of glitz or doubled over in my needle for a little tent stitch or basketweave. Works purr~fectly!

Matching colors in Neon Rays and Neon Rays Plus in French Blue and Lite French Blue.

New silks from Dinky Dyes Outback Sunrise, Chestnut, Matilda and would that be waltzing Matilda? Mud Falls, Flesh and Terra Cotta. They also introduced the same colors in 4mm and 7mm ribbon. Wonderful thread to work with!

New colors in Gloriana 12 strand silk Golden Squash, Jubilee and Tangerine.

and in the Gloriana Duchess Silk such as Purple Night Sky, Jubilee, Summer Foliage and Golden Squash.

And if that is not enough…Gloriana has a new thread! Tudor Silk, a 12 strand 120/2 silk which is very fine and created for linen work.

One of my favorite colors…Halloween Green! Now I need to get busy and try these new threads. Will these new colors be the just the right one that I am seeking for? Only time will tell!

The temperatures have been just wonderful the last few days, where it has cooled down to pleasant days and cool nights. I am seeing the forecasts for this weekend, and it seems that the mercury will be again climb into the mid 90’s. What the hey?

Last night was my final time for this year for going to the baseball game in person. A great game under the stars with an enthuastic crowd. I went downtown a little earlier than normal and walked around the streets of the Gaslamp Quarter before heading to the park. There is still lots of great baseball to come as the playoffs are just around the corner.

AlleyCat was being a good girl! and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?
