Rainbow Birds have Flown Home!

Yes they have! and I am absolutely thrilled with the work that the framers did on this piece. All the frame samples that were pulled off the wall, the piles and piles of possibilities of mat colors, fillets, inner frames with all the numerous combinations was all worth it when I saw this finished! We did try all colors of mat, from white to black to green to fuchsia to periwinkle and there was just something about this turquoise that caught our attention. Now because of this color, I have absolutely no idea whatsoever where this will hang in the house, but I am sure in time that I will come up with a brilliant idea!

I stitched the day away yesterday working on both the needlepoint pixie and the dishwashing pixie, trying to work on the girls so that they wouldn’t be embarrassed to show their faces outside of the house! There was lots of trial and error, stitching and unstitching and reverse stitching and restitching which to me is very frustrating…as I look at what I have stitched and think where did all the hours go in the day? and this is all I have to show for it? are you kidding me? Consequently I didn’t get any real work done on finishing up my stitch guides, so that will be today for sure, along with laundry, a hair cut and a few other errands. I will need to stay focused today and to get it all done, as tomorrow is another day with lots to do!

AlleyCat supervised yesterday from afar as she settles into one of her favorite spots. She absolutely loves napping in this box which is atop a cabinet which overlooks my desk where she can keep an eye on me! and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. Absolutely stunning! If you can’t find a place for this, send it my way and I will be glad to hang it on my wall.
