These small hearts by Needle Deeva were such a hit in Dallas, that we decided that I should stitch the other 3 and write the stitch guides. The are a quick stitch that is if the needlepoint gods look favorably on me with me thread choices and stitch ideas. It can be very challenging to find “stitches” for these small canvases. I will go thread shopping in my stash later today and get one of them on stretcher bars. I really want to do the lady first, but I am waiting for the River Silk that has been ordered for her hat. I am thinking of looking for a bauble to add to her hat, or should I make a ribbon rose? decisions! decisons! decisions!
Another new canvas and this one is strictly for my stitching pleasure! “Cat’s Night Out” by Sharon G. This is like a little Cat Walk with some great areas for stitches! I can see sprats head in the triangles, some laid filling stitches with silks and Kreiniks. I foolishly organized my threads not too long ago and put away all the threads that I had used on the Cat Walk, but I am sure that I will find them with no problem! I can see a road trip to my favorite bead shop for some vintage beads. I have too many deadlines right now, so I am sad to say that I can’t start this right now, but when I do you will be the first to know as I will share stitching on this with you.
This Easter House by Needle Deeva will proudly grace the back cover of Needlepoint Now next year. Now that sounds like a long tme away, but it is really not! It needs to be stitched, to the finishers and off to Elizabeth in plenty of time for their photo shoot, which is probably at least 3 months before your magazine arrives in your mailbox. Now I will let you do the math on that one! We went threads shopping last month for this one, but I am sure that I will still need something else. and until next time…keep on stitching
I can see why the hearts are a hit. I also like the Sharon G piece which is similar to another of hers that I liked. The Easter house is nice, but does not inspire me in the same way
The hat…How about cast-ons? Fun to teach. Students usually get it immediately or never do. A bauble might be fun, but if it is in a stitch guide, it might be hard to find the exact one. So, either bullions of a ribbon rose would be my choice. These look like such fun little canvases.
Enjoy Cats Night Out. I am itching to stitch that one myself but so far, no time.
Vicky, how many projects do you have going? Fess up….
Okay how many projects? let see there is the Rainbow Birds, the Pischke Pocket, the Panda and oh who is counting anyway?
Vicky – wait until you see the Threadworks ‘grass’ that Colleen ( The Needleworks, Austin, TX) suggested to me for another Easter project! It is simply perfect for the grass at this house! You’re gonna love it!
Deeva
Okay Deeva…what is the ThreadworX color? Inquiring minds want to know!
Oh, I love Cat’s Night Out!! But, like you, I have too many things going already. I’ll have to wait patiently and then watch you stitch it for us to enjoy.
Oh Come-on Vicky…only 3 projects?? No Way!!! We all know better ;~)
of course there are more than 3! I just stopped counting there. Have a great time at Bedecked and Beadazzled this weekend. Wish I was going!
Don”t ask how many I have going!!!!!….We can have a pool and the closest guess gets the pot!!!!!
