just saying…
pitchers and catchers start reporting any day now!
and tomorrow, back to stitching! and until next time…
Too many canvases and not enough time for them all! As I work through all of the pictures that I took of the wonderful new and must have designs that debuted at the Winter Market…today’s montage is a compilation of snowy winter canvases, Christmas and Halloween ones. This is a Mary Lake Thompson design for Melissa Shirley.
This is a Kirk & Bradley design of the 12 days of Christmas. A very clever way to portray the partridge in pear tree, 2 turtle doves, 3 French hens and so forth…
As we move to Halloween, this was one of my favorites of Melissa Shirley’s new designs. Entitled Wicked and this one is on order for me to sticth and develop a stitch guide! I see so many possibilities with this one…and of course a black cat on it!
and speaking of black cats, let me introduce you to…
Mrs. & Mr. Cat by Pepperberry Designs. I love these too as they are absolutely purr~fect! Mr. Cat is a chimney sweep kinda guy and she carries her broom and a cauldron.
a new Manuel Salas design brought to life by Tapestry Fair. For the lovers of the Day of the Dead designs…this one’s for you!
This is too cute as the groundhog wants an appearance at the big game. So sorry…looks like there WILL be 6 more weeks of winter! The commercials were wonderful this year, but I can’t say that much for the game. I was thrilled that Seattle won being that they had never won a Super Bowl before and I always like to root for the underdogs or ones that had never been there before.
AlleyCat enjoyed her own Super Bowl as she seemed to have taken all of her toys out… and still nothing to play with!
and until next time…keep on stitching
Are you a football person? will you be glued to the tv today watching the game? I will have the game on, just because that it was you’re supposed to do as I enjoy a great day of stitching. May the best team win!
Or is all about the food for you? Thanks to Food & Wine for all these great ideas for football food…from burgers to chili to guacamole to Hellfire Bloody Mary’s to nachos to sliders and of course you gotta have wings. Gosh this is making me hungry!
or is all about the commercials for you?
Budweiser does not disappoint with their new commercial!
or how about the Hero’s Welcome Home?
yes, there’s no crying in football…
What are you doing on the last weekend of March? Make a date with the San Diego and Palomar Mountian Stitchers of the American Needlepoint Guild and Margaret Bendig, stitching “Oh Long May it Wave”
This is such a great deal, especially if you are a member of one of these chapters. Where are you going to find a 2 day workshop at this price?
Oh Long May It Wave is a counted canvas design. The red stripes in the flag are stitched with over- dyed red floss, 4 solid red colors and two sparkly red threads. White floss is used for the white stripes. The star field is worked with an overdyed blue thread and Petite Sparkle Rays. The stripes in the flag are composed of a variety of square stitches. The stitcher has the choice of over 125 stitches from which to select. The “sky” background is stitched with an over-dyed light blue floss with a choice of background stitches. Or the stitcher can leave the background unstitched and se- lect a sparkle canvas instead. The complete design is surrounded by a red and white striped bunt- ing with a patriotic blue interior border. The design is fun to stitch and the variety of stitches makes it interesting to stitch and to view. The solid white squares reflect the light and the combination of reds and metallic threads make the flag wave and sparkle. The design size is 11.5 by 7.5 inches on 18 count canvas. Ghost stitchers are permitted.
Tickets are $97.00 for members of both the San Diego and Palomar Mountian Stitchers of the American Needlepoint Guild…so you could join our guild as a plural member and still save yourself money! We have some really great workshops and programs coming up that you won’t want to miss!
Tickets are $135.00 for non-members
But don’t hesitate…registration deadline is February 15th.
AlleyCat sends her best and biggest meows! she has woken me up the last 2 mornings at 3:30 and 4:30 respectively. What am I to do with her?
and until next time…keep on stitching
