I am thinking that you are thinking that I tucked this away never to be stitched on again? Well while you haven’t been looking, I have been steadily working this into the rotation as I finish up the inner windows, the ducks and allot of the detail work. I wanted to have it ready to the point that I can start creating my flowers.
Besides French knots, which by the way happens to be one of my favorite stitches! I don’t know too many flower stitches. I think most of these flowers are too small to be able to identify each and every one with a name, they are just flowers. I will be able to incorporate some of the thread colors that I have already used along with a variety of silk ribbons into the canvas. This is a canvas that I brought with me to A Stitch in Time to have Brenda Hart help me with. I brought a doodle canvas and all my threads along to learn some wonderful new techniques.
Witchy-Poo also made the journey with me, just sort of to strut her stuff! I sometimes will talk out my ideas with Brenda for her approval or not as she has always been and always will be my first and foremost stitching mentor. We go way back as I was in her very first canvas enhancement class ooh so many years ago when she first starting travelling and teaching. I still have the piece which is a dede sunflower. I remember learning so much from Brenda even in that very first class. I look at the piece now with very fond memories of the start of a beautiful friendship, but then I look at my stitching which was not what it is today.
Deco Kitty also made the trip and Brenda is very thrilled with what I have done with it so far. Allot of the stitches that I selected are from Brenda’s books, which she recognized right away! AlleyCat is helping me keeping me from losing my spot in one of Brenda’s books.
This morning we start our day off at Julienne’s with a wonderful breakfast. There will be a table set for 10 for us to dine in style! I usually like to have eggs for breakfast, but this is where I found the recipe for Creme Brulee’ French Toast, so I might have to try that. Then it is a trip to the bead store for the must have colors for our canvases and then onto class! and until next time…keep on stitching
I am green with envy. I am going to try to get into one of Brenda’s classes. Have a great weekend of stitching and catching up and all those ideas will be swirling around in your brain
Enjoy
