“Stitch N’ Pitch”

What is Stitch & Pitch? Descrbed on the TNNA website as “Stitch & Pitch brings together two wonderful traditions baseball & needlearts. Come to a baseball game and knit, crochet, embroider, cross-stitch and needlepoint. Sit among your friends, family and colleagues and cheer on your team!”

I am always ready for a baseball game and when Elizabeth invited me to join the Needlepoint Now family and friends for their Stitch ‘N Pitch game, I thought that it would be a great adventure. After all, my bucket list is to go to a baseball game at as many different parks that I can.

It was a beautiful summer evening at the game. It is short season single A baseball, sort of where the guys get started. It is one of the farm teams for the San Diego Padres, so I saw some pictures of familiar names and faces about the park of some of our players who played there. The home team won, the baseball was enjoyable, the entertainment rather quirky, the hot dogs, peanuts, ice cream and local brews wonderful, the company amazing…what more could you ask for? ooh did I mention the evening finished off with a great fireworks display.

Most important of all was the stitching…and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. What a wonderful opportunity! I love small city baseball – the food is better! Well, maybe, maybe not – it’s hard to beat the hand made Lemonade at Rockies stadium – on a hot summer night – that lemonade and that skyline is priceless. Too bad the team isn’t always fun to watch –
I hope you all are having a wonderful time!

  2. Way to go, Vicky!!! Fun time for sure..agree with Jane and nice to see some young stitchers. Off to stitch with my 12 yr old Granddaughter who enjoys going to Queen Anne Stithes in Santa Clarita each week and stitching. We’ve had a fun summer stitching up a storm.
