A Little Stash Enhancement…

Now you didn’t think for a moment that I would come back from the trade show without some new stash, did you? After all it has a black cat in it…so what more can I say? That would be so AlleyCat sitting on the top, surveying her domain and in charge of it all!

This is a new canavs by Sharon G called Deco Kitty. Some of you might be thinking, OMG this canvas is so familar, but where did I recognize it from? This Sharon GĀ canvas was originally designed as Dog Walk with a lady front and center dressed to the 9’s and walking her Italian Greyhounds. I have always loved this canvas! For the large color swatches as they lend to wonderful and creative stitches with all these amazing over dyed silks that are available to us. Sharon G was very generous in adding to my stash enhancement! Thank you very much Sharon G. I am thinking that it will make a great trilogy on the wall with Cat’s Night Out, Cat Walk and now Deco Kitty. Wishing I could start this now, but there is allot of stitching with a deadline ahead of this one.

In memory of the Baltimore Crab Tour 2011! I thought that this would make a great ornament for my Christmas Tree, canvas by Amanda Lawford. I love stitching in the season and will work on this during the holidays this year after my tree is up, stockings are hung and all the presents are wrapped and shipped.

Another canvas by Amanda Lawford. This is so cute and believe it or not I really do stitch on other things besides cats. These will be new ornaments for next year’s tree. Soon very soon my new holiday pieces that were stitched in 2010 for this year should be coming back from the finishers. I love the holidays and enjoy decorating!

Have you read your latest Needlepoint Now? The one with the amazing cover of the Mindy piece? well did you know that Santa Claus is coming to town? Well he is as there is a contest showing off your Amanda stitched Santas. Judged by representatives from Kreinik, Rainbow Gallery and Needlepoint Now. You could win an Amanda Santa….but hurry deadline is September 1rst!

A new magnet added to the stash while shopping at Bedecked and Beadazzled. I thought this would be the perfect magnet for my new Deco Kitty canvas. Robin just had to have one too, so we were able to find another one for her too.

I have new threads to share with you and yes yet another bag, am I out of my mind or what? Well we will save those comments for another day! I really have been stitching too while you weren’t looking. As Elizabeth is putting the finishing touches on the newest Needlepoint Now that will be out in a few short weeks, I am already busy on the November/December issue.

A little diversion yesterday as I was watching a kitty video. AlleyCat is totally besides herself as she just can’t figure out where that meow is coming from! Maru videos are my favorite.

and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. I love, love, love that needle minder. I think Ruth needs to send me one! Sylvester looks marvelous on the quilt. It provides just the perfect backdrop for him.

  2. Hello Vicky,

We have not met yet, but I am sure it will not be long. I wanted to thank you for your purchase and feature of Mag Friends from Accoutrement Designs. I laughed when I saw your recent post because I too am working on a black kitty canvas from Needle Crossings – the Key West Cottage. When we meet I will show you pictures of the “girls” who are the inspiration for the Pink and Blue cat magnets. Thank you again and I hope to meet up with you soon.

    • Hi Lisa! pat from Needle Crossings does wonderful cat canvases! I am so excited about my new cat needle keeper… I look forward to meeting you too some day. Thanks so much
