I am sort in a kitty cat mood, in case you haven’t noticed! and so color co-ordinated too, can’t you tell? This is a new stitching toy called a snap tray that I spotted on Bestitched website. It was calling my name, well after all is has cats on it, so I had to have it! Jeannine and Lisa actually delivered to me in person at the Baltimore show.
I first saw these snap trays while taking classes with Brenda Hart…a snap tray starts out flat, so it is great for travelling…
and then when it is snapped together it looks like this! I always keep one close at hand to keep my laying tool, extra needles, another pair of scissors, a tube of beads, a pen or whatever else strikes your fancy all in one place.
The cat on Deco Kitty, which is AlleyCat of course…has been beaded so she will really stand out and be noticed. I haven’t had much too stitching time over the weekend due to previous plans and commitments, but I plan on spending most of my stitching time on this canvas until I leave for San Antonio. I may even take this with me, for the late night forays in the stitching room that is usually set up for us.
Another new toy! I can’t take credit for this and I need to thank Pat, Chris and Elizabeth for turning me onto this… on our shopping trip to the Container Store, where we probably wiped out their inventory of these ribbon spool stackers.
They are perfect for holding Rainbow Gallery cards! you could organize by color, or all Splendor or all Neon Rays or… well you get the idea. I am not sure exactly how many cards it will hold as I have not had a chance to set mine up yet…and the cards only fit in one certain direction.
AlleyCat is working on her suntan as she gives me that look “you are really not going to take another picture of me!” and until next time…keep on stitching
Love your cat tray. I could not decide which one of two I wanted, so as usual SharonG style, I bought both. They are in use now holding an array of my “stuff”.
Enjoy San Antonio. Be sure to report who won ribbons as it happens! Wish I was there but, I will see you next year in Philly. Maybe as a student and if not, we will find some trouble in good old Philly. I have a niece who lives there and she can help us out with some places to see. I hear Missy knows the good bakeries.
Deco Kitty is looking good wearing her beads.
thanks Sharon! thanks to you and Ms Brenda Hart I really do love to bead on canvas…
Hi Vicky:
You’ve mentioned living in San Diego and I was wondering if there are any needlepoint shops in the Mission Bay / La Jolla area? I’ll be there with my husband in Sept and while he’s working, id love to do some stash enhancement!
Thanks so much,
Sharon
Yes there is Needlepoint of La Jolla on La Jolla Blvd in the Bird Rock Area and Needle Nook of La Jolla on Fay Ave. There are allot of wonderful shops in La Jolla along Girard and Prospect. Warwicks, an independent book store & gift shop and Adelaides are must stop and see destinations as are the seals in La Jolla Cove. Enjoy!
The canvas and tray were met for each other. Pretty canvas and very cute tray. Enjoy!
Thank you! the colors just make me happy…
Thanks, Vicky, for your response. I’m sure to enjoy a little retail therapy! Can’t wait to see your posts from Seminar next week!
My pleasure! I find myself in La Jolla quite often for just the same reason! and grab your self a bite to eat at The Cottage
“keep my laying tool, extra needles, another pair of scissors, a tube of beads, a pen”
and the eventual cat 🙂
Love the tray.
ooh you are too funny Palma! the tray is a little too small for them…but I am sure they would love to try
Love the ribbon boxes, Vicky. I’ve been buying them for years at JoAnn’s
and of course, using my 40% off coupon each time. I have several boxes now:
Neon Rays, Splendor, etc. all organized in their own boxes. I love how they
stack together and sit so neatly on a book shelf. I have to get some of those
snap together trays. Those look great.
