AlleyCat being Miss Busy Body!

Living with AlleyCat is never boring, never the same thing, always very entertaining and you never know…just saying. I was putsing around the house early in the morning and yes I am sure that putsing around is not any discernible word in the English dictionary, but anyway…I digress. I just couldn’t figure out what all this vocalization was all about, so of course I needed to investigate. It seems that we had a visitor of some type that invaded our house. AlleyCat spotted it on the broom handle and she was talking up a storm!

The visitor had moved to the mat section in the lower left, (which is very hard to see) on this needlepoint that I did so many years ago! No way was she was letting this new toy out of her sight for a fleeting moment, all the while continuing to talk up a storm. Who is she talking to? me? or something else?

She was getting a little anxious here, don’t you think? Sylvester wasn’t interested at all in what was going on at the moment.

She had her prey, toyed with it and batted at it very gently for a few minutes and not being at all sure of what I am supposed to do with this thing? sat and stared at it. That was my clue to rescue it from its certain demise and let it fly away, which I did. She was not pleased at all with me for taking away her new toy. So sorry AlleyCat.

I did settle in and finish my last project for the magazine and then got a little stitching done for myself. I finished off a few ornaments so that I can get them dropped off at my LNS before the finishing deadlines. Thank you Brenda for my background stitch and I just love it! This will be finished as a little bag and as it hangs on the tree will remind me of the wonderful seminar in San Antonio.

I can stitch my fingers to the bone for days now as I continue to work on all of my stitching commitments. I will actually be home now for a few weeks until my next road trip, which will be to BeStitched to teach Deco Kitty. and until next time…keep on stitching.

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. Sometimes we get geckos in the house and they drive the dogs nuts. Loki isn’t particularly interested in them, but he loves palmetto bugs. Nasty things, they come in through the drains. Ugh. Our departed and very much missed girl, Blizzard, was a champion gecko-catcher. I sure hope there are lots of geckos for her to torment in heaven.

  2. Is anyone else curious about the Needleart on the wall that Alley Cat was investigating? Looks like Noshi Ribbon or Kimono…It is gorgeous. Painted Canvas?

    • Sharp eyes Sue! that was a Princely canvas that I did when I first moved to San Diego many years ago. It was a great stash canvas, which is those days it was all floss and blending filament. Of course I needed to buy threads for the background.

It is a beautiful canvas and I am sure very well stitched. All floss and blending filament…bet is is gorgeous. True needleart, as Susan would say
