Don’t Rain on my Parade!

Well it really wasn’t my parade, but it was the first baseball game in the next step on the road to the World Series ball between Texas Rangers & Detroit Tigers…a great game where every pitch was cheered by the fans in attendance. Then the rains came and delayed the game and then shortly after the  game resumed, the skies opened up again with more rain. I know that the rain was much needed and a welcome sight, but Mother Nature, don’t you realize that you interrupted our baseball game?

The early morning hours, very early I might add found me on the road as I headed north to San Marino to pick up Brenda Hart for our traditional Saturday morning breakfast meeting at Julienne’s. I made great time, no traffic, no incidents as I never like being late! Our stitching group met for breakfast and I still wasn’t brave enough to try the Creme Brulee’ French Toast. Instead I kept thinking about the pancakes that Brenda always orders. The ones with blueberry compote and lemon curd and they were absolutely scrumptious! One of our group did order that French Toast and it looked wonderful, so maybe next time I will really order that.

As traditon has it, we then head to the bead store; the San Gabriel Bead Company which is an absolute bead paradise. They carry everything you could ever want in beads in oh so many shades, finishes and polishes and in every size and shape you could possibly hope for. I picked up a few more colors to hopefully someday when I have nothing else to stitch on that I need to stitch, I can go back to this “Cat’s Night Out” canvas by Sharon G. See Sharon I didn’t forget all about it!

We had a delightful day with Brenda as always, laughing and joking and just forgetting all the cares in the world. We didn’t misbehave so much as we did like the last time! I was experimenting with some stitches for Santa Baby and I was looking for her approval, which she did tell me I was on the right track. She inspired me with some other ideas and suggested some colors that I could try on the canvas. Ooh too quickly it was time to say my goodbyes and head home. A quick stop at Starbucks for an iced tea and the radio tuned in to the baseball game I headed home.

Sylvester is always at the door to meet me, but AlleyCat just didn’t seem to have the energy to move at the moment. I guess she had a tough day at home. As soon as she heard me in the kitchen and her tummy was telling her it was time for dinner, she quickly showed up! and until next time…keep on stitching

In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?
