I Should be Stitching!

I have my threads selected for Raymond Crawford’s Asian Lantern after my stash enhancement shopping trip the other day. From silks to Accentuate and a little Kreinik to River Silks, Sundance Beads and a few Swarovski crystals. You know you can never have too much bling!

If you are not really looking, you might not see the Swarovski crystals which are actually Marguerites or Margaritas, but the latter makes me think it is time for cocktails! They are little crystal flowers and you will see them below the Sundance Beads. I am not sure if I like either of those colors of Kreinik, but I won’t be sure until I actually get it on the canvas.

Like I said, I should be stitching! The other night I goofed off and went to a book signing at my favorite independent bookseller, Warwick’s, which is located in La Jolla.

Not only was it a book signing, but there were some of our local breweries there pouring their best stuff! I do enjoy craft beers and especially when I travel I try to seek out the local brew. I didn’t realize that San Diego is the craft beer capital! Not only were you sampling beers, there was some amazing food such as Karl Strauss Brewing Company Exec Chef Gunther Emathinger’s Black Garlic Fondue which was absolutely out of this world. YUM! For dessert there was a Pubcake, delicious little cupcakes made with craft beers.

Other goings on in San Diego this weekend is America’s Cup World Series where these beautiful and oh so very expensive yachts race around the harbor. Could go, but not.

The Susan G Komen 3 day Walk for the Cure is going on in San Diego this weekend. These men and women who walk 60 something miles are an inspiration to me. Two of my dearest friends did the walk last year and maybe we will all do it together soon. Last year it was pouring rain the 2nd day and I sure hope the rain holds off for them this year.

See what I mean? I should be stitching…too many distractions! Including Sylvester who never sits at the corner of my desk and supervises me. and until next time…keep on stitching.

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?
