Okay you are thinking to yourself right now, yes I know it, I can hear you! You are saying, are you out of your mind or what? Christmas is right around the corner, not Easter!
Yes I know that Christmas is right around the corner and I should be stitching Christmas type things, ornaments, stockings or whatever holiday related item that I can get my hands on. A few more deadlines are looming in my future and this one being the most pressing one at the moment. I haven’t put a stitch in this canvas in so long that I can’t even remember when I last had it in my hands.
This is the Easter Egg House by Needle Deeva and it will be in the March/April issue of Needlepoint Now along with the stitch guide…so it needs to be finished so that it can go and visit the studios of the magazine and be photographed for the back cover. The weaving of the basket needs to be finished and a little detail stitching here and there. Then I need to create the flower garden with a variety of silk ribbons, French knots and beads.
I will put myself in a holiday mind of spirit while stitching this by lighting a few candles and playing some Christmas music. Or maybe having the Food Channel on while they prepare all these mouth watering holiday treats that makes me want to get and start cooking every single one of them. No time for that now!
The purple peak across the top of the house was not painted correctly, so Sharon G suggested that I leave that extra space open and stitch flowers & leaves down the roof. I have been playing with a few techniques so far and nothing is working! I have one more idea to try and then if not I am going to take out the smaller section and move it down one and stitch to the count, not as its painted. I then need to finish writing the stitch guide and chart the stitches and then off it goes!
Then after that is done I need to start on my next project which will be these new hearts of Needle Deeva’s that will be debuted at Sample It Night in Phoenix. I have been pulling threads for these over the last few days, but I feel a shopping trip coming soon!
AlleyCat wasn’t getting along with the plan that all normal cats would get in the bag, not lay down next to it. I know, I get it now! she was posing for the camera. and until next time…keep on stitching
Love it all.
Thanks Robin!
Gorgeous, love everything (cat-not-in-the-bag included). Eagerly waiting for the stitch guide (have this canvas and the other one with the bunnies). Maybe you’ll get me going on this
Stitch Guide will be in the March/April issue of Needlepoint Now or maybe that magic shop with the green walls might be able to order it sooner for you from Needle Deeva!
Thank you Palma
Love Alley Cat, such a pretty kitty! I am jealous that you have a Trader Joes, though!
AlleyCat says thank you! I won’t rub it in to you as to exactly how close this Trader Joes is to my house.
