I swear it was just yesterday that I was at A Stitch in Time in Brenda’s class with this canvas! But a week has gone by and still not a single stitch. Can you believe that? The threads have been selected, the beads chosen and the stitches charted out, but this is for me…something for me to lose myself in. Something for me to stitch for me, something that I only have to worry about pleasing me.
It is a relatively small canvas, with a 7 x 7 design size. The trouble is that I have so much that is on a deadline to stitch, that I just can’t really enjoy stitching on this right now. Soon enough, I am hoping that things will open up and can sneak this into the rotation. Brenda did show me how to make fringe with thread, so I hope to able to do that before I forget how!
Everybody was stitching away, even George who at the moment looks like he was goofing off! He really makes class time allot of fun and keeps everything lively. He is working on one of Lani’s Santa collages. Beautiful work as always. Everybody was doing some amazing stitches…oof if the days were only longer! ooh if only I didn’t need to sleep.
Of course I had to bring my trees to show them off! and look for a few more threads. The rooster canvas to the left is patiently waiting for Brenda’s magic touch.
Brenda is working on one of Lani’s geisha panels with Kathy. It is really a show stopper! I can see another one of Lani’s canvases, this time one of the masks also waiting for Brenda to select more stitches and threads.
AlleyCat was keeping a watchful eye on me as I worked on the next installment of Kelly’s Crazy Quilt for Needlepoint Now. I guess she thought she could see me better if she sat on the bag, rather then in it! I did keep myself busy most of the day on the Mac and then decided when it was time to stitch, that I would just work on the Crazy Quilt. I am in the same section of stitching that I am in the stitch guide for the magazine. Now I can really put it to the test to see if it makes sense.
I didn’t see Sylvester for hours yesterday, so I went on a hunt and search mission. I was able to spot the tips of the ears, so I knew all was well in feline land. They love these boxes so much, that they continue to live in the closet for the maximum comfort for the cats. After watching “My Cat from Hell” on Animal Planet, I learned from Jackson Galaxy that you need to “catify” your home.
I am off to the Cottage for breakfast…sorry Missy! maybe a little retail therapy and then home to stitch and stitch some more. and until next time…keep on stitching
Catify your home? lol This is great but something I probably don’t have to worry about as my cats already took care of it 🙂
That’s the words that they use on “My Cat from Hell”
I love seeing all the classes you attend. Hope to be able to attend some as soon as I retire at the end of this school year. Do you teach classes that non store employees can attend? I love reading about the cats, but cat proofing a house good luck my 3 can always find something new to entertain themselves, something I didn’t think would interest them. Love the Christmas trees, on more thing to add to my list. Keep posting – I read you blog at lunch and it helps me finish my school day.
I am happy to teach in shops where everybody an attend! I am not cat proofing the house…I think that the catify term means adding cat trees, walkways and other items that make the cats very happy! They love those 3 boxes on the shelf in the closet and usually once a day I can find someone napping there.
