And you are thinking, exactly just why would you be going there? To the ANG Seminar of course! The American Needlepoint Guild Seminar is being held in Philadelphia this year. My first seminar was 1997 or maybe it was 1996 when it was held at the Peabody in Memphis, TN and I have been going every year since…I am hooked! Well I have gone just almost every time, even though there was a few years that I couldn’t make it. You know sometimes life just gets in the way. The nerve of it all!
I finally have my classes selected, well my first choice was a given, it was coming up with a 2nd choice that was the challenge. The Oregon gang helped me last week narrow down the choices. So during my lunch break today, thought that I would register on line and get that over with. Well it wouldn’t take my registration even after a few tries and now when I have gone back in hours later, it doesn’t recognize my sign in…so looks like I will do it the old fashioned way and just mail it in with a stamp or two.
My class that I want is the 5 day canvas enhancement class with the fab four. I have a canvas or two in mind already. For the 2nd choice I have chosen Debbie Stiehler’s Asian Collage. Selected the Pennsylvania Dutch Country Tour, since I have never been through the Amish Country. I am sure there will be needlepoint shops to visit and lots of local sightseeing, as I want to see the Liberty Bell and all those landmarks that make Philadelphia so very special. Oh did I mention a baseball game? I have already checked the schedule and the Phillies are in town.
Worked away on my charting, both for the magazine and for my stitch guides. When the graphs get too large, I convert over to the larger monitor (that you see sometimes in my pictures) as it gives me allot more room to see the stitches. As always, Elizabeth comes to the rescue when I have a a little question or two. She helped me tweak a color, and added an extra graph line for me.
Of course AlleyCat has to help to. Now really, I don’t have that big of a home…and there is plenty of room for her to park her behind. Mathematically speaking there must be a million and one spots she can sit, don’t you think? So why does it have to be directly on the stitch guide that I need to work with at that moment? Gotta love her!
Of course if I try to gently, and now I said gently move her, she talks back to me…no respect! I left her be for awhile and did some other things. Now why can’t you be good like your brother? She finally decided to move herself.
Sylvester was behaving and hoping that more of that sunshine would come in. and until next time…keep on stitching
So good to hear you’re coming this way, it will be a pleasure to meet you in person. You will love Amish country, my daughter and I go there very often and it is a wonderful experience, we find so much peace there. The lanscape is breathtaking and the buildings awesome. As far as shops are concerned you have Fireside in Fraser, Stitch House in Wayne and Rittenhouse in Philly, plenty to keep you busy. As I understand it, Fireside will have buses to drive people from Philly to Fraser, they’ve done this in the past. Haven’t seen anything from the other shops yet. Great restaurants in the area too so get ready.
While you’re here maybe you’ll consider taking Alley Cat’s “evil twin brother” with you, lol. I can only imagine what would happen if you put AC and Midnight together. Similar “behind” problems is just one of them 🙂
Can’t wait till finally meet you Palma! Midnight needs to stay with you as I know that he loves you too much already…
Philadelphia? Absolutely. Wouldn’t miss it for the world, even if there are no ducks like at the Peabody!
see you there Carole! I loved those ducks and the Duck Master of course!
Hi Vicky. You know that I live in Los Angeles. I meet you at Alison’s shop A Stitch in time. I’m waiting for a seminary one day in Los Angeles. I think next year at Anaheim. And till this time, have a wonderful time in Philadelphia.
I can see on the photo that you love he Asian style. Me too. A caress for Alleycat and Sylvester.
