Putting on the Green…

Wearing a little green, everybody’s thinking green today. Me I am thinking about green threads, green beads, a green book, green glasses, green snap tray and frame weight…just a wee bit of green!

Well it is St Patrick’s Day! and the weather here in America’s Finest City, well it is not America’s Finest Weather. It is cool and it is supposed to rain all day long, which will really be purr~fect stitching weather. There is a big parade downtown, so I guess the weather will put a little damper on the festivities. No green sweaters or warm green clothes in my closet, so I guess I won’t be puttin’ on any green myself today.

I was taught years ago when I first started really getting into stitching that you can never have too many green threads. You know when you start stitching trees and grass and shrubs and all those green things, it is amazing how shades there are.  I have this idea that I am going to put all of my green threads together so that I will have some ease in finding just the right shade when I am searching through my threads. I have the best of intentions and sooner or later I will get around to it.

Speaking of greens, I am amazed with these trees that I am stitching for NeedleDeeva, just how many shades of greens are in there. Kelly Clark’s Spring Crazy Quilt has allot of greens in it too.

Some flowers to add a little St Patrick’s Day spirit. I went into Adelaide’s looking for an orchid, but left with these flowers instead!

Mooch always has all the answers! I just can’t start my day without his wit and wisdom enlightening me.

Sylvester was either trying to get in the green spirit or just trying to hide in the jungle out on the balcony… that mean ‘ole vacuum cleaner was out. If he was scared of that monster before, he is petrified of it now. and until next time…keep on stitching

P.S. It is warmer in Chicago & Minnesota than here…what’s wrong with this picture?

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Vicky! What a fabulous collection of greenery (and the flowers are lovely, too!) So sorry that you are not having purr-fect weather; however, it was incredibly lovely here today. Glad that you had the chance to fit in a spot of stitching. Can’t wait to see what you are cooking up next!
