Those 2 words we all love to hear…play ball! Just when you thought I was going to talk about needlepoint non stop…I interrupt the regularly scheduled blog for baseball! It is opening day for the Padres, an event that I haven’t missed in at least 15 years.
My Padres Tshirt is washed and ready to go and my ticket is out so it doesn’t get left behind. I will probably head down to The Gaslamp Quarter where the ballpark is and the streets will be full between block parties and people crowding into all of the great restaurants. Lots of people watching! I really do love my baseball and I enjoy any game, any time, any team, any where.
Gotta have a hot dog! and maybe a beer or two…and the opening day ceremonies are always so special with the big flag unfurled on the field and probably a flyover too.
AlleyCat of course wasted no time finding these boxes that I had taken out of the closet as I put my suitcase away. I kept busy yesterday unpacking, grocery shopping, going to the bank, post office and then some stitching! It had been almost a week since I had picked up a needle and stitched. and until next time…keep on stitching
I love baseball too and am a Braves fan. Looks like it might be another tough year for me but there is always hope! Can’t wait to get the stitching out and turn on the game and hopefully have a good long weekend.
Baseball and stitching…the perfect double play!
It’s opening day for the Texas Rangers and I’m listening to it on tv while I do my part on our favorite magazine. Gorgeous weather here (in contrast to the 13 tornadoes on Tuesday), and the jets that fly over the start of the game go right over where I live – really exciting to hear because they’re low enough at this point to be super loud.
I too am listening to the Texas Rangers game and working on our favorite magazine. Next year when I am there for the Dallas Market, I am going to make a point of it to get to a game at the Rangers park. I should have done it last year, but waited too late and the tickets were sold out!
