It’s Fab Fir Monday! This one is called Norway Pine. I discovered a new version of a Diamond Ray Stitch that worked, I loved stitching and looked great! Don’t you just love that when that happens? What could be better than that?

When stitching a series of canvases such as this, it can be really easy to fall into a rut and just keep using the same stitches and threads over and over again. For me, that might be okay…but I am really not stitching for me, I am stitching for all of you!

I again channelled my inner Ruth and selected another color of Swarovski Marguerite’s. These are called Light Siam with an Aurora Borealis finish for that extra glint sure to catch your eye. Some bead shops might call them Margarita’s…I wonder what they are really thinking about?

In case you missed the last post that I used these beads, the Margarite’s can be added to your canvas and held into place with a French Knot, but I was challenged with pulling the knot through…so that wasn’t going to work. A exceptionally small Charlotte bead can be used to keep the Margarite in place, but I didn’t have any in the right color…so I just used one of the Sundance clear red beads that have been appearing in some of the other trees.

The first 3 Fab Fir’s have been at the finisher’s and have already made their debut at Needlewoman East. I heard through the grapevine that they received rave reviews! I am so very anxious to see them in person at the Columbus Market. As soon as the finisher with her magic fingers gives me a thumbs up, I will share the pictures of them with you.

If you can’t make it there, they will again travel to the Baltimore Market only after they have been entered in this years American Needlepoint Guild’s annual seminar and exhibit in Philadelphia.

I hope that everybody had a great Sunday! I really did stitch the day away and did not budge very far from the stitching area. I did fit in a little computer time for some diversion and a little change of pace.

Sylvester has discovered this new spot that he likes to hang out… not that it hasn’t been there all along, go figure. He gets to keep his eyes on me~that is if he can keep his eyes open for very long! and until next time…keep on stitching
