I really have been doing allot of stitching! Really I have… or should I say I have been beading! I absolutely love to bead and it does take allot of time and patience. I truly enjoy each and every single bead that I add to the canvas.
Bastet the cat is finished being beaded and also the beading in both of the lotus flowers is finished! I haven’t attempted the stitch that Ruth selected for the purple section of the lotus’s again. I will admit it was very challenging and I may look for something else. Not sure yet…but I will give it another try, I promise Ruth!
I have decided not to unstitch my basketweave on the hieroglyphics in order to bead it, so I will just leave it as is. I worked the background around this area, so really I am almost finished with lesson #4.
I have stitched the black that outlines the squares at the top of the canvas, even though this photo doesn’t show it. I tried it first with silk, even though she did say Kreinik, but Ruth was right, the Kreinik was the way to go and out it came. The silk made it look waaaaaay too dark and heavy. How could I have doubted you?
My next area that I will be stitching is the blackwork pattern that is behind the lotus blossoms. I can be pretty well caught up by the time my next lesson gets here…well sorta, kinda anyway. Work with me here! Ruth will keep us on pins and needles till Sunday night when she reveals the finished piece and then I will need to patiently wait for the threads and stitch guide to arrive the following week. I see allot more beads and baubles for her choker…what do you think?
Sylvester that is a really big yawn. and until next time…keep on stitching
I knew that sacred cat was going to be a winner when you first posted it. Golly, it almost takes my breath away.
I fell in love with that canvas from the moment I saw it!
I’m betting on tila beads for the collar, but I’m not too good at second-guessing Ruth! Her background was a total surprise to me – and exquisite.
Oh yes I love the background! She already gave a hint about “baubles” for the collar, so I do see more beading in my future.
