I love to stitch in the rain! well I won’t actually be sitting out in the rain, but from my vantage spot on the couch I can look out and soak it all in. The kids will be snoozing away instead of watching their favorite kitty tv channels as there won’t be too many goings on outside in the rain. Trust me, they won’t have any problem at all with sleeping the day away!
Look what just came back from the finishers! I always love hearing that phone call from your favorite LNS, “your finishing is in!” This was a canvas that I picked up last year when I was in San Francisco and just had to have it. Well it has a cat on it, and a black cat no less! It was a quick stitch and on 13 mesh and I am sorry to say that I don’t know the designer of this one. I stitched the background with the new Silk & Ivory Stardust, the one that has the metallic spun through it. I just love that thread and it was a pleasure to stitch with. It really needs to be on 13 mesh as I did try stitching with it on 18 mesh and it needed to come out.
This ornament will go on my “Meowy Christmas Tree” along with all the other cat ornaments. Every year I like to add one new cat ornament to it! Now for the other tree I have this new addition which is of course symbolic of my traipsing through the Sonoma Valley on wine tasting tour! How perfect, Kelly Clark’s Wine Country Santa. Nothing too fancy, some basketweave, French Knots in silks, floss and Kreinik!
I might need to go on a quick thread run later today. I think I am running into a Kreinik dye lots issue with the 002Gold in size 8 on Deco Kitty. I have 3 sides of the border stitched, yes did I say that I am 3/4 of the way done? I was just getting ready in case I need one more spool, dug through the inventory and noticed a different style of numbers on it. So I am envisioning that it is a different shade…well it is a little stiffer than what I was just working with. I am going to look through the stitching closet to all the projects that have threads with them and see what I can find. Oh well I am keeping my fingers crossed!
I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my November/December Issue of Needlepoint Now! I am so thrilled to say that I am on the list to get a preview copy as do all of the shops and designers that advertise with us. In the meantime I am working on the January/February issue. One more stitch guide to type and then I will start the charting of the stitches. So if I don’t go thread shopping today, I will need to go tomorrow as I need to look at some thread colors of Frosty Rays for a thread change in one of the projects. I looked on line, but there is nothing like seeing it in person!
AlleyCat was thinking she was in the jungle yesterday morning as I was taking care of the plants, and having a very enjoyable and relaxing start to my day. and until next time…keep on stitching
That kitty design is by Brittercup Designs. They have a website with a section of canvas designs. Cute!
Thank so much and I will need to go and check out their website! like right now!
Vicky, I love your tree themes. Cute cat ornament. Great stitching, as usual. Thanks for sharing.
