Bark at The Park!

The Dog Days of Summer are upon us! Last night was the 8th annual bring your dog to the baseball game at Petco Park in San Diego. The weather was pawsitively wonderful for a night at the ball yard. This was one big dog! and what a lover as we quickly became good friends. I hope the cats don’t smell dog on me when I get home.

The dog days are known as the hottest, most sultry days of summer In the Northern Hemisphere. The dog days of summer are most commonly experienced in the months of July and August, which typically observe the warmest summer temperatures.

The name Dog Days of Summer comes from the ancient belief that Sirius also called the Dog Star, in close proximity to the sun was responsible for the hot weather.

Dogs in their Padres gear just as their hoomans!

Everybody is waiting for the parade to start before the game. They get to walk around the warning track. The dogs all have their own tickets where they will settle in a specific area and watch the game with everybody else!

Almost time for the parade to start! Once the parade is over, it will then be time for the ceremonial first pitch…

Do you remember Uggie from The Artist? That great little dog that stole the show? Uggie was there to throw out the first pitch… well actually they put it in his mouth and he was told to walk it over to the catcher! I was way too far away to get a picture of it…but watching it on the big screen, it brought roars from the crowd. BTW, the game was pretty good as home team won!

The cats are in hiding this morning as they are thinking, we are not sharing the spotlight with those dogs! and until next time…keep on stitching

  1. What a handsome Dane! We used to have two Danes and if you inclined your head toward them, they’d plant sloppy wet kisses on your cheek! Great dogs!

  2. I do so enjoy your blog Vicky! I am in amazement that you can look at the blank canvas and make it come to life so beautifully. I must say ‘thank you’ for the beautiful new aqua Walker train bag that is headed my way. I have a couple of their bags and just love them!

    • Thank you Wanda! It is my pleasure to be an enabler for all of us. Where did you order the bag from so I know at least one of the shops that carry them!

      • I googled ‘Walker bags’ and actually ordered them from the company itself (a train bag for me and a 3-ball yarn holder for my friend) – found at walkerbags.com – happy shopping!
