Blogoversary Countdown!

Have you noticed the Blogoversary Countdown? Well in just 2 short weeks I will have been doing this for a year! Can you believe that? Where has the time gone too? Talking about stitching, the needlepoint industry and my love for the felines in my life. Well there are a few other passions too, such as baseball, my orchids, taking classes and spending time with great friends stitching away.

I do love doing the blog so very much. I especially reslish all the wonderful compliments that you send my way. When you say “I just can’t start my day without you” or “I end my day with a little peak to see what the cats are up to” it makes my heart sing! Stick around as I will have a few giveaways for all of you, my family of blog readers as that special blogoversary day approaches. We need to celebrate!

In case you weren’t with me from the beginning, this was the canvas that started it all! Rainbow Birds by Laurel Burch, a Danji Designs canvas. Stitches and threads selected by Brenda Hart, with my interpetation of course! It all started with my trip to Baltimore and classes at Bedecked and Beadazzled with Brenda. This hangs in my bedroom now amid several cat canvases and other framed cat artwork. I am sure that Sylvester & AlleyCat are waiting for them to fly off the canvas one of these days.

This was another canvas that I finished just before I started writing the blog. Canvas by Ruth Schmuff and he is “Tigger,” one of Ruth’s boys. In order to get a great picture for you to see, the frame was cropped out of the picture. I stitched this for Bedecked and Beadazzled and wrote the stitch guide. I loved it so much, that I stitched another one for myself!

Another canvas that I just had to stitch was this little black cat by Eye Candy called Peek A Boo Cat. Background stitch and thread selection of the background stitch and the eyes by Brenda Hart.

Sylvester is playing cute with me as he gets my attention! We had a nice play time with the laser light, his favorite. AlleyCat couldn’t be bothered. and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. I have the peek a boo cat and now can’t wait to work on him. See my black kitty is a ‘he’ and is named “Augie”. That is short for Augusta as in Augusta National Golf Club where The Masters golf tournament is played every April. My husband is a huge golfer and I am also a fan so we thought that name was perfect for our little boy. I really enjoy reading about Sylvester and Alley Cat and their adventures. Augie is the 8th kitty we have been blessed with over the years. It started with Bimini and her daughter Aruba. Then Turbo, Oreo, Mercedes, Studebaker and Ranger. Kitties are the best company when you are stitching away. Thanks for all your posts and pictures!

    • Thank you so much for your wonderful comment! I love reading about all of your cats. My peek a boo cat was stitched in the likeness of Felix, my first black kitty who now waits for me at the Rainbow Bridge. He was quite a thread thief, but Sylvester and AlleyCat leave the threads be. Thanks again!

  2. Loki sometimes tries to steal a thread, but mostly he’s a bag kitty. Almost every Floss Away bag I own has punctures from his teeth. Do you think he just wants to make sure the thread is getting enough air?

It’s nice that you have a balance in your household–dignity and flirtation.

  3. Love reading your blog and seeing your babies. The cat canvas are always a temptation. Tigger looks almost like my Muffin and I couldn’t resist ordering one to stitch. Reading your blog brightens my day. Thanks for all the needlepoint info.
