and my inner Ruth and Robin and Ada! After spending what seemed like countless wasted hours looking at and trying out different stitches, I finally came to the conclusion, it was time. Time for what? to venture out on my own and just create a stitch. I can do it, I know that I can! See I tried lots of different ideas, including what Brenda had suggested, but the count of the canvas threads just wouldn’t co-operate…lets see, there was a cat darning stitch, witch’s hats, pumpkins and all kinds of different combinations. I was absolutely thrilled when this stitch came together!
The fashionista Witchy-Poo’s hat was reworked and she is very happy now. I had first tried beads for the accent stitch and they were too big, next came French knots with the Glow in the Dark Kreinik and that was too heavy and sort of, well I didn’t like it…so this is what we came up with. The cat is finished, the candy corns and pumpkin have been beaded, but I will need to go back and double stitch the beads in the pumpkin after I pick up more thread. The border needs to be finished and I have been auditioning stitches for the sky. Last but not least will be looking for that “purrfect” stitch for the green. I have changed the thread from my original selection of Belle Soie to a different color of Belle Soie which has some more life to it. Do I want to mix Kreinik in with it? you wouldn’t really see Kreinik in grass, but being that this is a fantasy piece, I can get away with can’t I? I may look at more sky stitches too because as always I am second guessing my decision.
Yesterday was a great day of stitching and baseball! I finally did add in the last few compensating stiches on Deco Kitty as she gets ready for her trip to BeStitched. I continued to tweak the stitch guide, looking and scouring the sections to see if I had missed anything or if there are any blatant errors. See the cats are really not the best proof readers. The stitches are all drawn and they just need to come together with the text and then add the picture of Deco Kitty.
Today will be another day of stitching and baseball. I really haven’t decided who I am pulling for, as usually my choices are the kiss of death for that team. I just hope for great games as the season slowly comes to an end…but then when baseball is over I know that it is time for Halloween! and then soon enough it will be Thanksgivng and then the holidays! I love getting ready for Christmas, shopping, decorating, sending out cards, wrapping, decorating some more and stitching for the season!
AlleyCat was taking in her domain. This is hands down her favorite nap spot and I can usually find her here. In case you are wondering, yes she is quite the character.
Today is Livestrong day, the day to remember our loved ones, both human and furry whose lives have been touched by cancer.
I see AlleyCat as such an alpha femaile. She has such a large personality. Sylvester seems like such a guy!
yes she is definately the boss of the house and she knows it!
Beads!!! and lots of them. I’m thrilled. Looking great Vicky
Thanks Palma! did I see you in Brenda Hart’s class this weekend? in that magic place with the green walls?
