Happy Jubilee!

In honor of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, there are 4 days of celebrating going on in England! Sounds like they are going to have quite the party. Thinking of England and The Queen, makes me think of this canvas.

Keep Calm and Carry On was a poster produced by the British government in 1939, at the beginning of the Second World War in order to boost the morale of the citizens of the country under imminent threat of invasion. It was little known and never used.

I love these Keep Calm canvases. They have been showing up in many variations of color and words. Stitching one of these is on my must stitch in this lifetime list. Not what color do I want? should it be Keep Calm and Stitch On? or something else? Decisions! Decisions!

Back to the party! and what a party it will be…

My plans for this weekend pale into comparison! I will be starting out this morning in La Jolla for breakfast at The Cottage and then a little retail therapy. A few threads for my new stitching project is first on my list. Back home to stitch the day away and watch a little baseball. Do I want to go to the game tonight? Or would I rather stay home? My team wallows in the basement in the standings and you really do need a scorecard to keep the players straight.

The New York Metropolitians or The Mets finally got their no hitter last night! Their first one and it was so exciting to watch the last few innings. That is on my bucket list, to experience seeing a no hitter live and in person…one of these days.

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?
