I Met Prince Harry!

Well not THAT Prince Harry! THIS Prince Harry! This gorgeous Maine Coon cat that I fell in love with. I could have easily been taken away for cat napping as I thought what would Sylvester & AlleyCat would think if I actually did bring him home?

So in case you are still wondering where I was…I just happened to whisk myself away to Atlanta. Not like I had nothing else to do, you know. I went to In Stitches, Atlanta’s premier needlepoint destination for a class, ’cause as you know too, I have nothing to stitch either!

Sunflowers & Berries, a NeedleDeeva canvas which was stitched and brought to life by Robin King. Oh what fun we had! Robin taught to a sold out crowd all her tips and techniques for stump work, laid filling stitches and stacked beads! The latter being my absolute favorite new stitch.

In Stitches; A Needlepoint Boutique is located in Buckhead section of Atlanta. A gorgeous older home that has been renovated and turned into this amazing needlepoint destination. Bam, the owner of In Stitches, is just a spitfire full of energy and just oozes with Southern charm & hospitality, making it so welcoming the moment you walk in the shop.

Harry was charming as a Prince should be, with this cutest little chirping meow. As he made his rounds in the early morning hours looking for lots of love and attention, he would announce his impending arrival.

Thank you to Bam and Harry for your southern hospitality and for making the weekend truly memorable…and please don’t tell Sylvester & AlleyCat that I was hanging out with that cat. and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. It can’t possibly get any better than this Vicky – friends, cats, stitching, shopping….glad you had a great time!

  2. And you think that Sylvester and Alley Cat won’t notice? Dream on Girl! Looks like a wonderful time was had by all.

  3. Prince Harry is indeed a fine looking feline. However, and keep in mind that I am very partial to Maine Coons, Sylvester and Alley Cat are always impeccably groomed in their formal black outfits.

      • Indeed he is. And as sweet as the day is long. In the seven years Loki has been with us, I don’t believe I’ve ever heard him hiss. He never takes a swipe at the dogs, even though one of them taunts him every chance she gets. Loki has a chirplike voice too. It must be typical of the breed. As Coons go, Loki is a runt. But he’s still an armful.

        • The tail was quite expressive, is Loki that way? It seemed like it was always moving! This is the first time I have seen a Maine Coon in purrson!

          • I can’t say that Loki’s tail spends much time in motion. Most of the time, Loki sleeps or watches the birds in the yard. If one of the itty bitty chickadee-type birds clings to the window screen, then sometimes Loki will do other catlike things–the tail movements, the acking noises–but they haven’t been around yet this year.
