I’m Buried in Stitchguides!

The fun part for me is the stitching…loosing myself in my stitches, beads, Kreiniks and all kinds of threads. I think I do my best stitching especially at this time of the year when I can listen to the melodic voices of the play by play and the color annalists announcing the baseball games. I love baseball and to me it doesn’t matter who’s playing, just as long as there is some game on.

After the stitching is done, the stitch guides need to be written! Well at least for the pieces that I am doing for the Deeva or Raymond or Ruth or Sharon G or whoever else may ask me to stitch for them. Sometimes that is the tedious part and not my fav, you know writing the stitch guides. I keep saying that I need to visit the app store for the iPad and get a word processing program so that I can take notes on the iPad while I am stitching and it will magically go to my computer.

Once upon a time I could remember it all, every little stitch, every thread and number of strands…well just every little nuance about working on that canvas. Well can I say that the memory isn’t that sharp anymore? Or is it that I have took many threads and stitches to remember? Sure that is what I will blame it on!

I have a one more stitch yet to create on Illustrator and press P for print! Soon they will be packed up and on their way to NeedleDeeva so she will be able to fulfill some early orders. I am waiting for one more package of Swarovski crystals to arrive from Austria and wow I started working on these crystal orders as soon as I got back from Dallas which was over a month ago.

My cacti are opening their flowers! I am enjoying watching them come to life, that I am leaving them indoors where I can enjoy them all day long. The blooms don’t last long, maybe a week at the most.

okay is Sylvester meowing? or yawning? either way I caught him in the act! and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. You need to get a recording device so you can just pick it up and tell it what threads/stitches you’ve chosen for which specific area(s). (Says one who actually prefers charted canvas work and hasn’t done too much with painted canvases!) I admire your abilities.

  2. You have an app on your iPad called Notes. It is like a legal pad. You could use that for free! I too love baseball. I am a huge Giants fan but we are blacked out here in Vegas but I do get the Padres, Dodgers (Boo, but I like Vin) and the Angels plus MLB and ESPN and WGN! Nothing better than stitching and listening!

BTW, Vickie, did you work at NeedleNook? I think I met you when I was doing stockings for my new grand twins. The Padres were the give away. LOL

    • yes Judy I did work there and do remember the beautiful stockings that you did. Believe it or not most of us in San Diego are blacked out for the Padres and that’s a long story. I will look for the Notes. I guess its the same thing thats on my Mac? Thanks!

      • I heard last night from Dick Enberg that a 20 yr contract was signed with Fox. Is this what you meant?

        • Time Warner, which is my cable company will not pay the exorbitant price that Fox wants for the games…so no games on tv for me. I listen on the radio or watch another game.
