I’m Really at a Loss for Words!

Yes I am…believe it or not! Most days I really do have some idea or know exactly what I am going to write about on the next blog. Some faint notion, some little idea that is budding in my mind that just blossoms in thought or some other inspiration brings me to the keyboard.

Well for the last few days, I really have been at a loss for words. I know that some of you have noticed a picture of these canvases on my Facebook Timeline, these NeedleDeeva trees, which still remain nameless at the moment. A few of you have even asked me if I am stitching these yet? I have been rather elusive with the answer and…well the answer is yes!

All of a sudden I realized that I am teaching this at Destination Dallas which is just a month away. I realized too that not only did it need to be stitched, the threads needed to be ordered, the stitch guides need to be written, notes made for class, threads and beads readied to be assembled…ooh did I forget anything?

The Destination Dallas Team which is Raymond of Raymond Crawford, Debbie of Painted Pony and Karen of Strictly Christmas have it together for you for your classes. The canvases will already be on stretcher bars, so all you need to do is show up for class! Isn’t that wonderful? The classes are offered to the trade only.

The first picture was purely staged for the blog. I do spend hours going through all my threads in the house, determing the palette color which is based around Splendor S821and then expanding the threads. Many more threads will be purchased, along with beads, more threads and then more beads. Some threads are just right and some not so right. I have stitched this first one with Soie d’Alger, Splendor, Mandarin Floss, Planet Earth Fiber 6 Strand Silk and Sundance Beads. I also have Belle Soie, Trebizond, Grandeur and other colors of beads and silks to select for the other ones. There are only 8 more of these canvases.

So all the threads are assembled in a box and are just waiting to be selected. Some will be just purr~fect and well others will need to come out as either the color is not right, nor is the stitch. The books are everywhere as I am always looking for inspiration.

Today is a day at the Mac working on stitch guides for the magazine. I normally save my stitching for the night time hours, well maybe except for Sunday, which can be a marathon stitching day.

AlleyCat was posing for you! Notice that the blinds in the window normally stay at kitty height, which means that is convenient for them to jump up on the window sill to snooze in the sun or watch the birdies. and until next time…keep on stitching

P.S. This will be NeedleDeeva’s newest retailer club coming to your favorite needlepoint shop soon, very soon! Details coming…

Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. • That’s normal. Isn’t it? Please tell me it is. I do that all the time. But rarely with results as wonderful as yours.

        • Ooh flattery will get you everywhere! When I am stitching for myself, it is not as tough…but when I am stitching for this I am always questioing myself, will they like it? am I doing the same thing over and over? IS too many beads? Not enough glitz?

          • I never feel like your stitch choices are over the top. They’re frequently subtle and very effective. I’m currently stitching the red and purple sock from the Silly, Sassy, Sparkly Socks and I love your choices.
