Believe it or not today…well yesterday was the Vernal Equinox or the First Day of Spring! Well that’s what the calendar is telling me. The equinox means equal parts daylight and darkness and the vernal equinox welcomes warmer temperatures, longer days and saying goodbye to winter.
The cherry blossoms will be blooming soon and in just a few short weeks Passover, Easter and baseball will be here. But what is all this white stuff that I am seeing on the news? What’s going on? I think Mother Nature is confused!
Even Mooch is thinking of it as he celebrates the first day of Spring!
A canvas by Maggie with frame by Lisa & Jim Krause which brings thoughts of spring, warmer days and getting back out into the garden!
or this great canvas by Maggie “Poppies & Lavender…
I hope soon that the winter that never quits, will go away and you too can have a party as Mooch and Earl are doing…
Even Sylvester is thinking spring!
and until next time…keep on stitching
Spent the last several days reading through your archives and enjoying all the beautiful and fun needlepoint projects. Thinking about giving it a try – starting by sending for the book How To Needlepoint by TNNA . Thanks for all your work in writing this blog – the cartoons are fun and of course it’s interesting to see what Alley Cat and Sylvester are up to. We have a Sylvester visiting us as the moment. He’s kind of a cranky guy, though. I laughed about the PIGS – I actually have some, just didn’t think about the name. Looking forward to your new stitching projects.
Thank you very much Sherilan. That is a very good book from TNNA as is “The Bible” the first book by Jo Christensen.
i think everyone is ready for spring. Sylvester looks very interested the plants or maybe the water. Thank you for the magnet, i love it!!!! It is on my current canvas to inspire me to stitch more or faster. I’m taking a class with Laura Taylor at Needle Works in Austin and am doing the prework for the class. My friends are loving checking on my homework progress, since I am a former teacher. Thank you again for selecting me to recieve a gift, hopefully it carries some of your stitiching magic.
ooh aren’t you sweet! My BFF Missy is also in that class and she too keeps talking about the homework. One of these days I want to take a class at The Needleworks…enjoy!
Vicky, we are so ready for winter to leave…but today we have awakened to another storm! The good news is that I can stay inside and stitch! What a great picture of Sylvester!
Enjoy your stitching day and sorry for the weather. I love that picture of Sylvester too! He was probably waiting for me to turn the water on for him to take a little drink.
